Chris was not at the job sight. The edging and stone work looked nice, but they did a bad job placing the plants. This is hard to explain, but they were not lined up and it looked like sloppy work. I called Chris, complained and then they fixed it. Initially it looked nice but with the spring and summer rains, I noticed problems with the drainage. The drainage tile (connnected to the gutter system) was placed too close to the house, on a hill, a few feet from the newly installed retaining wall. The water would drain out of the tile, and the hill was starting to erode. I called Chris and told him of the problem, he was very annoyed and at one point yelled at me. Eventually, he sent his guys out and they added an extension to the drainage tile at the bottom of the hill, but still too close to the house. It was causing problems. I called him again, but got the same response. I just gave up and fixed it myself. A few years after he put the landscape in, it did not look as nice. Plants died, the edging has been coming out of the ground. When talking with other landscapers, I would have probably not chosen his design. As mentioned, I looked to landscaper to help with designing something that would last, and his plan has not. Landscaping is a hard job and I understand that things do not always go as planned. But when I called Chris about the problems, the last thing I expected was to get yelled at about my concerns.

LOUSY FROM THE GIT GO... RETAINING WALL WAS NOT BUILT TO DRAWN PLANS WORKED UP BETWEEN MAJESTIC'S OWNER AND OURSELVES. BY THE TIME WE NOTICED THIS, IT WAS TOO FAR ALONG AND WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE BEEN TORN DOWN. NEW FRONT STEPS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED, HAD THEM RE-DO AND PROPERLY BASE STEPS ON FIRM SUPPORT. WHILE INSTALLING STEPS, FRONTLOADER WAS DRIVEN INTO THE FASCIA OF OUR PORCH, DAMAGING FASCIA, WHICH MAJESTIC HAD TO PAY TO REPAIR. UNDERGROUND SPRINKLER SYSTEM DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF MAJESTIC DIGGING INTO SPRINKLER HEADS AND LINES...MAJESTIC ALSO HAVING TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. LESS THAN QUALITY GROUND SOIL USED TO PLANT NEW GRASS SEED (ACTUALLY HAD JUNK IN IT SUCH AS BROKEN GLASS, AN INK PEN...JUST GARBAGE...THE FIRST RAIN WE HAD WASHED MOST OF THE "DIRT" AND JUNK DOWN OUR DRIVE TO THE NEIGHBOR'S DRIVE...INTO THE STREET...OUR LAWN SERVICE HAD TO DIG ALL OF THIS OUT AND REPLACE WITH TOP SOIL AND RE-PLANT GRASS SEED...AT MAJESTIC'S EXPENSE. WE FINALLY HAD TO GET OUR ATTORNEY INVOLVED TO HELP US GET ALL OF THESE REPAIRS AND LESS THAN QUALITY WORK, TAKEN CARE OF...OWNER OF MAJESTIC "STALKED" US BY CONTINUALLY DRIVING BY OUR HOUSE... THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WE STILL HATE LOOKING AT THAT DUMB RETAINING WALL.

We needed to replace our patchy old lawn . I found Majestic Landscape Services, among others, here on Angie's List. Our front lawn is an extreme incline and our number one concern was deciding between hydro-seeding and sod installation. I was under the impression that sod was more expensive than seed. Chris Nadeau came out and spoke with my husband, Randy. I was not at home. My husband expressed all of our concerns and questions about the incline. He made a point of asking about rototilling to ensure that everything would be level and even. Mr. Nadeau said that adding topsoil and raking it in would have the same result and, unfortunately, we took his word for it. He assured us that the incline would not pose a problem, that the strips of sod would be stapled in place to prevent slippage. He said he would send an estimate for both sod and hydro-seeding. He emailed just the sod estimate for $1436.32, so I called and asked how much the hydro seed would be. I was told it would be the same. My husband wanted sod and paid them $720 down on Aug.12. We never saw Mr. Nadeau again. Long story short, the men came and brought top soil and spread it around. Two days later they laid the sod. They told us to water like crazy every day which we did and every thing looked fine. My husband sent a check for $716.32 a few days later paying in full. After 4 weeks, Randy called and ask if Majestic's people would do the first mowing (for a fee) and he was told that they "don't do that". So we hired another lawn service to do it because we wanted to make sure it was done right. That was a few weeks ago. Now we can areas where the sod has separated because it was not stapled as agreed. Also there are holes where the soil was not leveled as it was supposed to be. I was very upset and my husband call Mr. Nadeau with our concerns and asked him to come over and see what we could do. Mr. Nadeau said to send him a picture but that he didn't know what he could do about it. I sent him the pictures that I hope I can figure out how to post here. This is the response I got from Mr. Nadeau: Paula and Randy, I have looked at the pictures and to me it looks like the sod is torn or has slipped. This would be from walking or most likely mowing before the sod was fully rooted. I understand that you have spent good money to have the work done. The damage was done after we installed the project. It has been over a month and a half since the project. I assume at this point you are holding us responsible for the damage? Further yet, Am I to assume that you desire Majestic to fix the issue at no cost? I do not mean to be controversial. However, I would assume if the project was not installed correctly we would have been notified within a few days of the completion. Thank you for the feed back. Chris Nadeau I told him that we wanted no further dealings with him and that we'd hire someone else to fix what he had done. We have never seen the man since the day he came to give an estimate. He was very sweet and polite that day. He has no interest or pride in the work they do nor in customer satisfaction. Don't do business with Majestic Landscape services or Chris Nadeau.

We had a driveway put in which left quite a bit of damage to our lawn. Majestic came in with topsoil, reseeded and did a maintenance program for the summer and fall with fertilization and weed control. Considering the dry summer we had, I am quite pleased with the results. I have contracted with them to continue the work this spring through the fall for 2013. I am hopeful that the damage from the previous year will not be noticeable as the summer progresses.

They preformed services promptly and for a reasonable price.

We have a yearly deal with them. They do a good job. They are fairly priced for what they do. We shopped around and they were one of the lower cost options. We've had a good relationship with them for a number of years. They have done well when we've had an appointment with them. We will be using them next year.

They will pick up leaves, which a lot of people won't do. Their price is as good or better than most. They don’t gouge up the lawn but there are a lot of broadleaf weeds in the lawn.
