American Pool Service

In October, 2013, I placed an order with American Pools for winterization and installation of a pool cover for my ingound pool. At that time, a deposit of $1000 was charged on my credit card and was told it would be approximately 3 weeks before installation.
Around early November 2013, several attempts were made to inquire about the date the pool would be winterized and the cover installed. During those phone conversations, I was never told that the cover wasn?t yet ordered, rather, I came home one day to find Greg Richardson measuring my pool for the cover. Obviously, the cover had not yet been ordered and the pool still needed to be winterized.
On Dec 3, 2013, nearly 8 weeks after taking my deposit,  the cover was installed and the employees attempted to winterize the pool. By that time the pool had already frozen to the point where it could not be properly winterized. They even hooked up a garden hose from my utility tub so they could run hot water through the already frozen plumbing.
When I opened my pool in Spring of 2014, I discovered a stream of water coming out under the concrete decking. I immediately contacted American Pool Service Inc and was basically given the run around for several months- not returning call and even denying that they winterized my pool. Giving them a chance to resolve the issue, I used a backwash hose for my return line all summer long. After the season, I finally hired another company to fix the leaks-4 were found. The cost to fix those leaks was $2,014.74. Also, I have stamped, colored concrete decking and there are now 4 cut outs in my concrete that look like hideous patches.
I am currently in litigation with American Pool Service Inc trying to resolve this matter.

The professionals at American Pool do a great job with our pool closings. Each spring, when we open the pool, the water looks clean and clear. This is a big change from the company we used to use!

We just started dealing with them and the results are very nice. I've had the pool for a long time. They appear to be very knowledgeable and very efficient. They're coming out in the next couple of weeks.

Everything went great! The work was done at the end of the season. Not only did they complete the work (did a very professional job), but they even patched a couple of spots in the plaster that were wearing through. The other part of the job that they did (included in the bid...as part of the clean up) was they acid washed the plaster as well. The pool looks like brand new. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs work to their pool.

Highly recommend!

We were first time owners of a pool last summer after we bought our house. We used American Pool Service because the previous owners had used them. We had several issues throughout the summer with their service. After they opened the pool the water was cloudy. We continued to purchase and use the chemicals they recommended to try to fix the water quality but it took weeks to fix. We also had a fire in some of the electrical circuits in the pool house, this equipment was installed by them prior to us buying the property. They sent some one out to fix it. He removed the parts and did not show back up for several weeks to replace the parts. When he did show up, he entered our property without our permission and replaced the parts while we weren't home. We were never given an estimate for the work and received a bill weeks later that was outrageous. We will not use them again.

The cleaning was done well, basically by one man with a crew of others who seemed to be go-fors and observers. Once cleaned a representative came for inspection. He told me what he thought I needed. I had other companies and give an estimate. This company told me that all my edging would have to be replaced because ground had washed out under it - her produced a hollow sound while inspecting to illustrate his claim. Later two other inspectors never mentioned the issue until I mentioned it - he said I don't need this item replaced and then produced the sound the original representative had - demonstrating a trick/scam. When American called, I asked for a written proposal stating each element of the job and a brief explanation of why this work was needed....upon receipt, the edging was not included or mentioned. I may be missing something but felt the representative was taking advantage of me as a new pool owner.||The initial cleaner told me that one of the two covers needed special cleaning so I paid for this service and storage. In the fall, when I contacted the company, they could not find a record or my cover !!

The company came out and opened the pool, installed a new pool cleaner. Every time I called them were out within a few days. When I closed the pool this fall they were out and finished up in a few hours. The pool was ready for the winter winds because they tied the cover and put the pool equipment away in the garage. Couldn't have been happier.

They have also done some additional maintenance for me. My overall experience with them has been good. They have been doing the pool for about 8 years and I have no complaints. They come when they say they are going to come. They come right back and take care of any issues when I call. They are professional and I will continue to use them in future.
