Yvon was able to get started on the job immediately after bid was accepted, which was a bonus. Work progressed very quickly and I felt Yvon checked in with me often to make sure the deck was in line with original design idea. Yvon was flexible and able to work with design changes and requirements halfway through the job. I have already been asked by friends for his number, as the deck has turned out so well.

The project went very well. Mr Ethier came out the day that I first contacted him to look at the pillars. He said that they lacked a central post and the right one was badly deteriorated and was providing no support. He recommended replacing the pillars. The next day he called me with a price quote of 977 to replace both pillars. He came out as scheduled on August 27 and was punctual. When he began the project we found there was more that needed to be done. The left pillar was quick to remove and was rebuilt using cedar as I requested. The right pillar was badly damaged by a leak and was completely rotted. The damage extended to the right front corner of the gable where the pillar was attached. This was unexpected and was not included in the original price quote. It was necessary to remove vinyl siding on the gable to evaluate the extent of the water damage. Fortunately it was confined to an area of the front right corner. All damaged wood was removed and replaced. Then the new pillar was put in using the central post of cedar and building around it with cedar. He used a level and everything was measured and done precisely. The aluminum siding was replaced because the old was damaged. The gable siding was also replaced. Mr Ethier was very capable and seemed experienced in handling this type of work. He adjusted the price because of the extra day's work involved. He was very professional and involved me in all decision making and choice of materials and what was to be done. After adjusting for some materials that I picked up (which cost 187), the remaining cost was 1120--which I thought was good considering the amount of extra work that had to be done.

The project went very smooth. We didn't have a tight floor plan so Yvon helped us decide where the logical place was for the rooms we wanted based on where a couple of support pillars existed along with where the furnace was located.

We wanted the basement to not look like a basement. In the main area and home office we have a drywalled ceiling which really gave the room a finished look. In the area where there were heat ducts we dropped the finished ceiling and it looks great. In the few areas where there was a need to access pipes etc, they placed access panels in the ceiling.

One of Yvon's staff even helped me with my home entertainment system by running a 2and quot; PVC pipe in the celing so I could pull the necessary cables between the projector and the home entertainment system.

When we ordered the wrong size cabinet for the kitchenette it was no big deal to get the correct size and make things work. They even built a custom shelf that matches the purchased cabinets exactly.

We had a very ambitous timeline to get the work done and Yvon and his crew went out of their way to make sure the work was done on time. The job was done on time and on budget with no surprises.

He was incredibly professional, prompt, and he gave us the lowest estimate with still having an extremely professional product.
