Benno has refinished several items for our family. The latest item was an old steamer trunk. He restored it beautifully, right down to every intricate detail! Once it was refinished, I literally didn’t recognize it! We would highly recommend Benno’s woodworking for all your refinishing needs!

I got a beautiful claw foot oak dining table from my parents. It hadn't been used in many years, and the top got some water damage while it was in storage. I took the table top to Benno to have it refinished. In the process of doing that, he discovered that some of the black water damage could not be sanded off. He tried heavy sanding and bleach, but could not get all of it out. He called and said he would have to remove that part of the table, and build a new section to replace it. The additional work would cost an additional $80.00. I okayed the additional work and cost, and he called a few weeks later to tell me the table was ready. I was thrilled when I finally saw my table top again. Benno did an excellent job! The finish was perfect in color and smoothness, and you can't even tell that he had to cut and replace part of it. I am very happy with the work he did, and even happier with my "new" beautiful table. The reason I graded him an overall B, instead of an A, is that it took roughly three months for the work to be completed. The final cost was $395.00. That said, I found Benno to be a very pleasant, skilled professional who does beautiful work. I will definitely use him again in the future.

Had him do several peices of refurbishing family antiques took a long time and parts were permently lost very upseting to have peices damaged by losing locks ect.

"When work was completed on the desk she was notified. She was not able to make payment and said we should sell it to pay for work done. I told her we would keep for a while since she had mentioned how much the piece meant to her and if she changed her mind to let us know. We moved the desk from the shop area into our storage with many other pieces. Three years later she showed up at shop and asked if we still had the piece, which we did, but would need to retrieve from storage. When we found the desk some parts were missing but found. We believe there was no bottom drawer lock when we received the piece originally, but all other drawers had locks. The drop off date on desk was in 2007, the actual pick up date was in 2010, The three year period we were storing it for her as a courtesy is not the length of time it took to finish the desk. No good deed goes unpunished."
