Dan arrived on 7/10/18 at 9:30 AM as scheduled. He had to do all the work by himself because some of his employees were on vacation. Dan had some problems that were not his fault. The first unit he brought had shipping damage on one corner. He called his sales rep and the sales rep brought a second unit. Dan had the second unit installed on the pad and the lines all soldered when he saw that the second unit was also damaged. It was a subtle defect which was not readily visible until you looked at it from a distance. The top was shifted over from the bottom which made it appear out of level. Dan called his wife, Deb, and she drove to Grand Rapids and picked up a third unit and brought it to our home. She had to drive sixty miles to bring the unit and then go back to the office. This unit was good and Dan proceeded to complete the installation. He also installed a new digital thermostat to replace the old mercury thermostat. Dan did a very professional job and never complained about all the difficulties. He finished up at 6:30 PM after a very long day with several frustrations. The new Bryant AC unit works great. I cools the house down much quicker than the old unit and even shuts off for a while between cycles. The new digital thermostat holds the temperature within one degree also. We couldn't be more satisfied with Boniface Heating and Air Conditioning and would highly recommend them.

They did a great job, explained the problem and solution. Also provided a quote for new A/C that will probably be needed next year.

We first contacted Boniface last fall to discuss what options we had to convert from electric heat to gas heat and central air. The owner Dan Boniface was very prompt in showing up for our appointment. He looked our house over and said we had the option of putting the system in the crawl space or in the attic and he took to time to explain the pro's and con's of both solutions. We were also considering a heat pump solution and Dan explained what would be required to implement this. Dan spent a couple of hours going over all this information and he politely answered all my questions. Within a couple days, Deb Boniface emailed detailed estimates of all the different options we discussed. Since we had flexibility in our schedule, I asked Dan what would be best time of year for them to install a system and he said spring is their least busy time.
We contacted Deb in late-March to further discuss our plans. Dan came over and we narrowed down our options to what we wanted and did some additional detailed planning. Dan was very patient and answered all our questions. A couple days after Dan left we received a formal quote from Deb. We decided to accept the quote and schedule the installation.
Dan and his crew of Jake and Larry arrived promptly on the day we scheduled and went right to work. All 3 men were very courteous and respectful as they went about locating and installing registers on our main floor. They cleaned up after themselves at each register location and never failed to consult with us on the specific locations they felt were best. After 2 days they had all the major components in place and some of the connections made. At this point, they stopped work for a couple of days while custom ductwork was being fabricated.
They returned with the custom ducts promptly when they said they would and began the installation process. We observed the guys working together and were very impressed with the quality of their work and the professional way they conducted themselves. In 2 and a half days of hard work, they completed the installation. The total process took 4 and a half days. They subcontracted an electrician to make electrical connections to the furnace and AC during this time frame.  The whole process was very organized and seamless.
We have had a chance to get some use out of the furnace recently due to the cold weather and it has performed beautifully so far. It is much quieter than we thought it would be and heat is very even throughout the house. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our selection of Boniface for our HVAC system. Thank you!
