Burke's technicians have been out 3 times in under a year, to work on our luxaire system that is under 10 years old. . They charged us over $1000 for repairs to a unit that should still be under warranty.. buyer beware.When it comes to fixing the problem, they should be in the hall of shame. They charge for parts that aren't broken, fill with freon, and in a few weeks system is down again. This has happened 3 times already, and system is still leaking. Now we have to call a real heating and cooling company to fix our unit. Hall of Shame for you Joe.. stop the gas and go practice. Your destroying the planet.

The installers today were professional so no problem there. However, since 2011 we spent over $5000 for a new AC and other repairs that I feel we would not have needed if the original air cleaner installed by Burke would have been installed correctly. In fairness, Joe sold us the electronic air cleaner at his price. He did not take any responsibility for Burke's part in this fiasco. However I wonder what he would expect if he was the customer. I could NOT ever recommend Burke to anyone.

This is an excellent company. Joe was at my home until 1:00 a.m. trying to diagnose what turned out to be a unique problem. Although he did not have the part to resolve the problem, he called me back at 8:00 a.m. the next morning and advised me that I could have the part installed free of charge by contacting the person who originally installed the unit. Joe had determined by contacting the furnace distributor that my unit was under warranty and to qualify for free parts and service I had to have the original installer service the unit. Joe is a stand up guy who looks out for his customers first. People like Joe are almost impossible to find these days. Thank you so much Joe.

They were very punctual, did the repair and it was much less than I thought it was going to cost me. I was told by another contractor that I was to replace the unit and I talked to some friends and they recommended him. He came out and got it running in 20 minutes. It is amazing and sometimes flabbergasting of the ability that you can find and that is why it is always good to work from a personal reference. Before Angies List came that is how I functioned.

I've used Burke Mechanical numerous times and they have been excellent. They're of the few heating and cooling people I would call and like say, "Here. I've got a rental. Go put it in." I can't say enough about them. They're really good. The freon was leaking and is expensive. It's about $300.00. He said, "You've got a leak somewhere in the coil. I'm sorry." So, they deducted the price off my repairs they had to do. A lot of places wouldn't have done that. They would say, "Hey, you're out the money. Sorry." But they came in and reworked it, but they took their whole service call off the price. Their prices are competitive and they beat out several other companies and they still use all the high end, quality equipment. So you're not getting like stuff out of China. They'll do that to me, they'll say, "Listen. The heat exchanger is good and there's no rust on this furnace. It's going to last awhile." How many places are that honest? That's how they are.

We signed up for an energy audit through a special program in which we paid $100 for the audit. We had lots of work done and part of that was a new furnace with a rebate. So the person who coordinated everything contracted with this company. I only have one complaint is that it took very long for Joe Burke the owner to get to my home. This might be because we were under this program I am not sure. The main coordinator had trouble getting Joe to call him back, so,he gave me Joes direct number. I called and he answered the first time. He told me he would call me in two days with the install date. Over a week later I called him. He told me that it should be end of that week and he would call. On Thursday they called asking if they could do it on Friday and I said fine since I am home and don't work. Had I been working this short notice would have not been ok. They said they would arrive at 9:00 am and they arrived at 10:00 am. The workers were very professional. They told me they would be about six hours and they were. They cleaned up really well and explained how things worked before they left. They took a lunch break which was expected. The furnace is running great ! Our old one would be real loud when the air conditioner ran and we would have to turn up the TV. Now we don't. Oh! I forgot there was one visit before the install to measure everything. It was a short visit.

They worked hard, were always on time (estimate and job days), professional, and personable. The unit is whisper quiet and placed just where it should be. The thermostat is nice and easy to understand. Thanks to the Home Show at the Silverdome, we had a $600 discount. Joe, the owner, came out for the estimate and installation, making sure it was all right. There were a few hiccups, as there are in every kind of construction/renovation, but they handled them quickly, confidently, and correctly. Due to my schedule, they even worked on Good Friday. I am very pleased, and with a 10 year parts and 5 year labor warranty, it is in their best interest to do it right the first time.
