First of all he said it would be a month and it took 6 months to start the repair. The window that needed to be replaced was almost 6 ft x 6 ft. Instead of a new window she said it would be better to just replace the glass it would be as good as new and cheaper. The glass they put in was held in by c*** only and on the top and one of the sides did not even reach the trim, you could poke a piece of metal from inside your house to the outside with no obstruction. There is wood damage before they got there that he was supposed to replace and he cut a load-bearing beam and toe nailed a bunch of wood together for the support which started sinking days after the install. . I was awarded a judgment against him in court for the full amount but he has not paid and has not been showing up for court dates. This is not an over exaggeration I would be willing to send pictures of his work if anyone is interested and thinking of using this clown show of a company

Horrible company. Complete scam. They put barn windows in an apartment building then had to fight to get them replaced. Then said they did all tempered glass and none of it was tempered and they never responded or came back to fix it. Do not use them.

Very long story but this all started in April of 2015. there were many issues but the one thing that caused me to write this review is that they broke the wood siding on my house around one window and installed the brick molding/sill incorrectly causing there to be a large gap around the window (uneven) and the window wont open because its crooked. They promised many many times to come fix it and they never showed up, many calls and emails were exchanged and still they havent come to fix it. I paid in full in good faith, I should have known better. the damage done will lead to much more damage due to weather getting behind the siding and behind the window frame. I will now have to pay to have their work redone. I would not recommend these guys at all. They are nice enough but do not keep promises and their work is sub par. I paid to have all my windows aligned (encasement windows) and they are all still crooked, some are hard to open to this day. I have all my emails from this company which include some with the pictures they sent me showing the damage they are going to repair.. I will use this to get refunded the money I paid or have to pay to get the repairs done.

They were on time and as far as I could see the work when well, but as the time pasted I begin to notice that the door wall still bowed and they did not put insulation around the picture and door wall as promised. I notice that the frame on the outside of the door wall is coming apart. I called several time to complain but received no call back nothing. I would not use them again

They couldn't commit to a start date. It dragged on and they weren't responsive. We ended up canceling the job and requested a refund of our deposit. Months later and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau...we still haven't received our deposit. They mailed the refund check but it bounced. They still have our money and have put us in the position of having to file a claim against them in court. An absolutely terrible company. Save your money, time and sanity and go with someone else.

Metro Detroit Window broke 2 new glasses, leave very dirty glasses and a mess where they were working, broke some ornaments, never repair windows that were not working, no supervision. People that was sent to perform the work had cero experience, because I asked them, and they confirm that we're new there, and never before work with Windows. I tried during one year to get the work completed, but never happened, I had to go to court to get the agreement one the refund of payments, but after a year still not receive the payment.

I have been working with (trying to) MDW since April of 2015, I requested a quote to have most of my windows replaced in a newly purchased home, at the time of quote, they were responsive. I have had nothing but troubles with them since. it took them over a year to finish the bulk of the work and even then, it was incorrect. I requested tinted primer for all rebuilt or replaced moldings and shash's.. All primers was white which in itself is not a big deal and I didnt make a big deal out of that. the biggest deal is that the rear window rebuild was not done correctly, the brick molding was installed incorrectly and as a result there is a misalignment of the window mechanics causing a large gap, additionally they broke the wood siding in the process and promised to fix it many times, they still have not fixed it and there is a big hole in the side of my house. (as of March 2017) they did not align the windows to the frames like they promised and charged me for. The seals on one of the windows is loose and comes off when you open and close the window, this was a complete rebuild window and its not sealing, I have called and called, promises were made to complete the work many time, appointments were made but never kept, I would stay home waiting on them with no call or contact at all when the didn't show up.. I paid in full after the last major part of the work (in 2016) and that was a huge mistake. they are not done and they wont return my calls any longer. Jay is a decent guy to work with but the work is not complete and I am very upset at the lack of communication, and the fact that its been 2 years and it still not done. (was only supposed to take 2 weeks back in April of 2015)

Terrible.... the windows don't fit properly the trim on the inside of the windows was all bashed up. The painter came to do the painting when the job was completed and couldn't paint as they had used silicone and the paint wouldn't stick.

This all started about a year ago and the job is still not done. The estimate went fine but when the crew showed up they did not know what work they were suppose to do. My wife felt bullied by the job manager. He told her about all these other windows that they needed to work on and that we needed to pay more. When I came home a ton of work was not done and the work that was done was done poorly. It took the rest of the summer to get the company to come back to do the original work. As winter came they still had not finished 3 windows and a number of screens. They have stood me up at least twice and refuse to return phone calls. I would NEVER use this company. You can not trust what they tell you.

They handed the job over to one of their contractors and the cost went up when they had to buy some parts they hadn't mentioned before. It took longer than expected but the work ended up being fine.

I bought the deal in April, but I wasn’t able to get them out until August. The first group that came out wasn’t experienced and broke the glass, but the owner came out afterward. The glass looks fine, but it doesn’t quite match the other windows. They were very pleasant people, but I can’t recommend them highly.

I am not happy for what they charged to do. The caulking was a very sloppy messy job. I had my wall off with no insulation and he comes in and tries to put it in without any insulation behind there. As a license contractor he should know that you don't do that. They weren't on time when they showed up.

I should have trusted my gut. When Jay never showed for the first apointment to quote the job, I should have ended it right there. I gave them another chance and am sorry I did. They built the new windows wrong, therefor they would not fit in the opening. They spent a good part of the day trying to make them fit, but eventually had to board up my windows, take the new windows back to the shop and fix them and return the next morning to finish the job. So I would now have to take part of another day off work. I was promised on more than one occation that they would be at my house at 8AM to start and it would take about 4 hours to complete. When they hadn't arrived or called by 8:40, I called John and got excuses about needing more parts and the parts store wasn't open ( I didn't believe the excuses), and they said they would be there at 10AM. When they arrived, there were only two workers instead of the 4 that were there the previous day. They didn't "finish" until after 4PM, so I ended up having to take the entire day off. But they were not finished, two of the windows did not function (open and close as they should), THEY NEEDED MORE PARTS. Before leaving they asked my to pay the remaining balance, I said I would pay when they finished the job. John said they would come the next day to finish and I told him my wife would be home, I had to work. The next day they came, but again didn't finish because THEY NEEDED MORE PARTS, but asked my wife to pay, I got on the phone with John, was insulted, told I was uncooperative, and that I would hear from their attorney. After John left, I called Jay, when I told him of my conversation with John, he said that is not how they treat customers. I said John was no longer welcome in my house and he agreed to have someone else finish the job. A few days later the parts arrived, two different guys showed up to finish the job and it took them over 3 hours to get all the windows functioning.
I will never use them again and will not recommend them to anyone I like.

"[member name removed] was told that the start date of this project would be 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks from the date of deposit. He was also told that the start time for his project was weather permitting. As we all know the weather has been terrible this year and it has not been on our side thus far! Due to the weather it has pushed our jobs a week past what most customers have been told we try our hardest to keep open lines of communication with our customers know how our schedule proceeding. As far as the parts are concerned, every customer that orders parts from Metro Detroit Window are made very well aware that the parts could take anywhere from four weeks to six weeks to come in. Unfortunately we do not keep any parts on hand we do order them from out-of-state. [member name removed] was told that as soon as the parts come in he would be contacted immediately. We apologize if you feel that you have not been taking care of in a manner that you feel you deserve! We pride ourselves and our honesty and communication with our customers even if that means letting the customer know that their job time will be started later than originally planned. Unfortunately this is a business that is forever changing from the way we handle our customers, to communication, to how and when our jobs are put in. We wish that every customer could have a wonderful experience with Metro Detroit Window!"

Metro Detroit Window Repair did a fantastic job!!  From the initial phone call, to the services complete, they were great!  We are in the process of selling our home, and there is an issue with one of the windows in the back of our house, ground
level.  A tree had fallen a few months prior, and bent the gutter above the window.  So whenever it rained, all the
water in the gutter would fall directly on this window.  After time, all the wood around this window had rotted away.
We saw the advertisement coupon from Metro Detroit Window Repair for $150, for $300 worth of work.
We contacted them, before buying the coupon to see how soon they could come and do the work.  They told us they
could come out the next day to measure, and asked us for a few pictures to give us an estimate on how much the window would cost.  We texted them some pictures, and they gave us a reasonable estimate, so we purchased the coupon.  The next day when they came out to measure, they were very polite and professional.  They ended up ordering a whole new window for us which took less than a week to come in.  They installed the window as soon as it came in,  and it looks great!  We highly recommend Metro Detroit Window Repair!
