A-Tech Home Inspections

It went very well. He was thorough, prompt and reasonable.

We received a very prompt thorough report with photos and clear explanations of all possible issues with the property we are planning to purchase.

I was very happy with my results with A-Tech. The inspector was very friendly. He took time to answer questions and showed me around to point out any concerning items that he was going to write in the inspection report so I would know exactly what he was referring to. He took pictures of all areas of the house and garage and provided a full (40 page) report with the pictures and notes, which I received via email the same day as the inspection. I would recommend this company.

Our 81 y/o father recently had to replace his roof and we children didn't think the roofer was doing a very good job. They were quick to take the first half (down payment) of Dad's money, quick to put up their sign, and quick to remove half of the roof. But after a week and a half with no one from that roofer's company showing up to finish the job, and another half a week with only one or two guys showing up sporadically to slowly get the rest of the roof finished, we worried that the roofer was taking advantage of our senior citizen father.


We called Stuart to see if he would sound the roof when it was finally completed to verify that the job was done properly and that these roofers weren't cutting corners. He made a Friday afternoon appointment for us on short notice, arrived early for the inspection, was very professional in his inspection, and had a report back to us by Friday evening. He found a few details that needed to be corrected before Dad made his final payment and included photos of the problems. He also reassured us that the roofing company was professional, did a good job, and even offered some insight as to why they may have been taking longer than originally expected.


We found Stuart to be a wonderful inspector to work with; very professional, very understanding of our situation, and quick with a report of what he found. We highly recommend him and will work with him again in the future should we, or our father, need additional inspections for other work performed.

Stuart is an extremely professional and thorough home inspector....and also a very nice human being.  I was pleased with his responsiveness both when scheduling our home inspection as well as while writing up the report.

He uses technology during the inspection to capture his notes and photos along with real-time feedback and recommendations.  We walked through his findings and was sent the report at the same time.

I would not recommend this inspector.  There was a major point of concern on moisture in the basement that was brushed over and not given attention to.  Given my gut feeling, I hired another inspector that easily identified that my concern was real.  There was visual surface mold a significant portion of one room of the basement drywall.  Have to look for it, but I thought that is what inspectors were paid for...particularly when a point of concern is raised.  The second inspector quickly identified drainage issues that likely related to the moisture.

Mr. Shaw was punctual, courteous and knowledgeable.  We received our report the same day as the inspection which was great. He took time to answer questions and at the end of the inspection went over the major concerns in the house before we left.

I have used A-Tech twice in pre-purchase inspections and radon tests. Stuart saved me from the mistake of buying the first one with a thorough inspection of the property and detailed explanation of the (many) issues and potential costs. He also arranged for a pest inspection to be performed on the same day by a reputable pest control service. His inspection report was detailed and gave me a good idea as to whether the house was worth purchasing.
On the second sale agreement I did not hesitate in calling him back for another inspection. Just as the first inspection,
it was thorough complete with a detailed report and findings along with potential costs.

He was swamped with work but was nice enough to come on Sunday to get the home inspection done before the 10 days allowed to decide if we still wanted the house.He was very thorough in his inspection from start to finish and even offered to come back to check the attic because we didn't have access to it today.We are very pleased with his service and would use him again.

Stuart was very responsive to my initial phone call, and we were able to set up an appointment in the next weekend. His price was in line with two other providers that I had bid on the home inspection. Of the providers I contacted, Stuart was the most professional on the phone and in the information he provided on his website. Stuart showed up to the property a few minutes early and began the survey of the exterior of the home. He then inspected every interior room's components, including windows, plumbing, and air. He also helped me with a water test, which I purchased at the store to test the well water on the property. The overall inspection took about 3.5 hours and he gave me a very thorough 40 page report the same evening. This report included pictures and commentary.

I was allowed to accompany Stuart while he inspected the home. Every detail was looked at. Each outlet was tested. Every window was opened and shut to check for use. The structure was reviewed with me as well as the operational components of the home.
In every place he inspected he was good at pointing out any potential concerns and offering advice from the perspective of a professional as well as a homeowner himself.
After the inspection a complete detailed (I do mean detailed) report was emailed to me and to my realtor. The report was 27 pages long. There was a cover page and a table of content page. Following these two pages was a list of definitions for term used in the report so there was no doubt to the reader what was acceptable and what was a safety issue.
Each item inspected was reported on complete with a picture of the area and if any concern was noted it had an arrow pointing directly to the problem. The report was in full color.
Not only was this report very detailed it was easy to understand and served as support for my realtor to use as an attachment to an addendum for the seller to repair two safety issues prior to closing on our home.
I would highly recommend Stuart and A-Tech Home Inspections. I have given Stuart permission to allow potential client to call me if they have additional questions.
