He was prompt and thorough through the quoting process and answered all of my questions (which I'm sure was more than he really signed up for).
Mark and his team handled the entire process from start to finish. This included the paper work for the Inter-Connect process through DTE as well as the Solar Current program. Mark went above and beyond to negotiate with DTE in order to allow us to have a larger than approved (4.14kW) system installed so that our future usage would certainly be covered.
Highly recommend Sunventrix and would definitely use them again if we were ever to expand.
When he first arrived, we talked about 3 possible locations for the panels. I immediately ruled out the south side of my house. I preferred the south slope of my garage roof rather than my back yard. He brought this cool and quot;light-o-meterand quot; that not only measured the amount of light from the sky from a particular spot (the amount would vary depending on obstructions like trees and roof lines) but also calculated the arc and angle of the sun at different times of the day AND of the year. When he mentioned not only the higher cost of adding panels to a structure but also its necessary inspection, I immediately realized that my poor old garage probably wouldn't pass muster. I agreed to an estimate for a and quot;solar gardenand quot; in the yard.
We exchanged a lot of e-mails after I agreed to the work. I wrote a check for about half the amount in the last week of June. I asked a lot of questions, which he promply answered. He also came a few times with paperwork for me to sign. I also gave him a key to the house so that he or the electrician could get into the basement if need be.
It was in the first week of August that my panels finally were connected and started generating electricity that would offset the power that DTE supplied. It was a month later when I wrote a check for the 2d half of the amount due.
If I had an internet connection at my house, he could have connected the display so that we both could monitor on line the daily energy output.
I was prepared to have this work take all this time and wasn't disappointed with the pacing. I found Mark to be quite professional, competent, and punctual.
Not sure if my grade of B for the cost is fair, since I didn't get competing quotes. Nonetheless, my net cost will be less because of DTE rebates and a 30% Federal tax credit.
The work was performed by a group of people that obviously knew what they were doing. The installation is clean and the system works well. It passed all necessary inspections. One of the inspectors even commented that it was a top-notch installation job.
I am very pleased with Sunventrix and am glad we proceeded with this project. I have already recommended the company to a couple of friends. I have no doubt that I selected the right company to do this work.
