Kelly was very prompt in providing a quote and in scheduling the work. The team arrived when they said they would and notified us by email when weather prevented them coming on one of the days planned. We found the team very efficient, courteous, and effective in the preliminary power washing, the painting, and the cleanup.

Overall - it was a very poor experience. They were not the most expensive nor least expensive of the quotes we received for the project but seemed ready and capable for the job. Unfortunately they started two weeks late, had poor work hours (from ~11 am until 5 pm (but still managed an hour lunch break). After not finishing even one side of the house after three weeks of being onsite - we agreed to terminate the project and go with another company.

"First of all, it's important for members to know that we have an A rating on all jobs completed and up until this job, we have completed all houses we have started. We take pride in the work we do. Query all the D's ratings and you'll find Any D ratings are from members who's houses we declined to work on. As a business, we have the right to pick and choose what jobs we will work on according the scope of the job. We had one potential customer that was drunk and his German Sheppard lunged at me when looking at his house. We did not take that job on. That member gave us a D. We had our reservations about taking on this job. This house was a very large old house built in the mid eighteen hundred's. It was in neglected for years and in terrible condition. It looked like it may have been a foreclosure. I really didn't want to start a project like this and especially so late in the year. I let the owner know we would not be able to start the job until current jobs were completed. The owner assured me he would work with us. I didn't see him until two weeks into the job once we started. We started on the south side, the worst side of the house. It had been badly neglected for years. It was about 15 years overdue and was a job the that should have been started in the spring. We found much more rotten wood then what was originally quoted after we started the job. One second story small window dormer was so rotten, it fell off when we started working on it. The 1850's trim that was rotten is not available in any hardware or lumber store. There was a considerable amount of time taken trying to locate trim that would match. This was a very time consuming job to repair trim rather than being able to replace it when trim could not be found. In addition, the trim color schema had multiple colors (4), which was very time consuming. The diagram they prepared for us for the color scheme was very difficult to read. They did not want us to power wash the house but requested that it be washed by hand, adding much more time to the job. Also, the mornings can be cool and damp in October and paint cannot be a applied until temperatures are warm enough for paint to dry properly. After we had been working on the house for a few weeks, the owners mentioned that they were planning a reception for the next month and by then, we had almost completed the most difficult sides of the house. In hind sight, I would not take on a house in this condition unless the owners had a crew of carpenters that specialized in old rotten houses to make repairs before we started. I believe this was poor planning on the owner's part to schedule such a large project so late in the year, especially if a large event is scheduled for the next month."

Rainier painting did a great job and their price was fair. They were punctual, thorough, friendly and worked within the timeframe that we needed the job completed. They also used good quality products and cleaned up the job site every day. There was an issue with one of the stucco board repairs, which they will address in the spring when the weather is better. We would highly recommend them and plan to use them for some interior painting in the future.

No complaints for Kelly. He is very meticulous about his work and did everything I requested. Any small problem that came up was worked out without any issues. He completed the job in the amount of time he said it would and his quote was exact. I recommend him and would use him again! I also felt his pricing was fair.

I was extremely impressed with the quality and cost of services provided by Kelly. As I've painted my house before, I appreciate the importance and difficulty of scraping. It is critical in how long a good paint job lasts. He took the time to scrape and detail similar to how I did it for my own house. I highly recommend his services!

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We wish that we have before and after pictures to post. Our house looks so much better. The work was really hard, involving a lot of scraping and replacement of worn wood.  Kelly is a perfectionist and goes above and beyond so that everything looks shiny and new. Also, he has a very pleasant personality and is a nice person to have around.

Kelly painted the entire exterior of our home.  We had an ugly 1980 tudor style that was all dark brown.  He painted all of the trim, including gutters, white. All of the aluminum siding and stucco was painted in a light creamy color.  Since we had new white vinyl windows the transformation was spectacular.  They did an amazing job washing, caulking, removing and fixing trim, priming and painting. They were a pleasure to talk to each day and we are extremely happy with the job.  One of our neighbors has also hired them.

Contacted Rainier thought Angie's list and we set up a walk-around to do an estimate. The weather didn't cooperate for some time, but they were able to do a pressure wash shortly after our initial meeting and  came when the weather was suitable for painting.
Kelly was very personable during the whole process.
There were a few touch up items that I wanted addressed during the final walk-around and those were taken care of without a problem.

Kelly will often go above and beyond to make it right.  He removed the roof on a shed attached to the house and replaced it. The side door was an interior door that was disintegrated and he replaced that as well with an exterior door before painting it.  We also had a bird problem and he added bird blocks so they would not keep damaging the paint and windows.  The whole neighborhood is ecstatic that the house is no longer blue tarp blue and all of their house values have gone up, which is a very hard color to cover up with a light sand color.

Rainier Painting was professional and made sure we picked good colors for our house. The estimate they provided was well within in the median range. They provided many, many samples for us to choose from. Once we selected our colors they painted a small area so we could see how it would look. This is a 2 person team who pays extreme attention to detail when painting. We can't say enough about how pleased we were with the outcome. We love our new house!! We would recommend Rainier Painting to anyone who was about to paint the exterior of their home!

I took three bids from Angie's list providers.  Kelly's bid was in the middle and he offered a discount for
Angie's list members.  I required the work to be finished before July.
Kelly thoroughly prepared the house and then he and his partner began the actual painting.  Although the weather in June (lots of rain) worked to complicate things, Kelly finished on 30 June.
I try to stay out of the way of contractors, and when I would do a walk around inspection and notice slight miscues, I would note them for discussion later.  However, these items were always corrected without me saying anything.
There was a lot of challenging trim work to paint and they took care to be exacting and precise.
As they said, they paint each house as if it was their own.
Kelly is extremely pleasant to work with.  He is polite, receptive to comments, and evidently committed to doing high quality work.
I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Found out about Kelly while he was working on another house in my development. Talked to him and he gave an excellent quote and warranty. We schedule the job over a few weeks due to other projects, but once there he delivered. I was pleasantly surprised that he even gave me the choice of picking the paint brand. Not many people do that. Another thing about Kelly is that he's a solid human being and very knowledgeable on many topics.

Kelly Ormsby and his assistants did a fabulous job of painting my home.  He and his crew were professional, courteous, clean, and detail-oriented.  He had good suggestions and even went out of his way to help with small details regarding the front door, porch, and gutters. I really appreciated the time and care everyone took to make my home look beautiful.  His rates are very reasonable, and I would definitely trust him again with my home.

They pressure washed the house. Sanded , caulked and primed. He would only paint if weather allowed. He meticulously prepared the house. I love the colors.
Response from Rainier Painting Co
"We really enjoyed doing the work for you. It's always great to see the big difference good preparation and paint will make to a house. You picked fantastic colors. Hope you don't get tired of having the nicest looking house on the street. :) We used a top quality primer and a top coat paint with primer because of the peeling paint. Primer makes a big difference. I see so many houses with peeling paint because the previous painter did not use a primer. That will make your paint job last 20 years instead of 5 like it did. Removing mold and mildew from the house yearly and making sure your gutters are working properly are two other factors and extend the life of paint. Paint will only last a very short time in standing water. Thanks for trusting us with your home."

I put in a review for this Company when they finished the painting job last spring of 2012.  The pressure washed the house, garage, and decks.  Painted the house, trim.  Painted the garage and decks.  When the job was finished it all looked to be fine.  Now this Spring i noticed that the paint on the deck is real thin in many places and you can see the wood underneath.  I called the person who did the painting and left a message describing my situation and to please call me and come and look.  I never got a call and no one has come to look.
Response from Rainier Painting Co
"Did not receive (member name removed) 's first call. When she called again, we responded the next day. The deck has dense growth of vegetation around it. This was keeping the deck wood damp. She has sense trimmed many of the trees and bushes. This should allow the deck to dry out. When I arrived there, water was standing on the deck. The paint on the house still looks great! The deck wood is soft and water saturated. Once the deck dries out, we'll scrape the flaking paint and put a few coats of primer on it. That will be followed by a few coats of solid body high quality deck stain. Decks should be painted at least every 4 years. When maintenance is not kept up, cracks appear in the wood and that gives water a place to get into the wood and sit. Eventually, the deck has to be replaced. (member name removed) said it had been quite a few years since the deck was painted. She said it was built in the 80's. Our intent is for all customers to be completely satisfied with the work we do and we'll stick to our guarantee."
