KAYAK CORRAL

The very knowledgeable staff helped us (brand new to kayaking) select 4-5 boats - single kayaks -as possibilities for us. We made an appointment to come back and try them out, and the owners were very accommodating.  One of the owners hauled the kayaks (and us) down to the local park/reservoir and let us try out the kayaks.  We even got a very effective, quick lesson.  This made us confident in our purchase, and provided an excellent introduction to kayaking for us and a wonderful experience.  When the car rack arrived from Thule (about a week - 10 days) the owner helped us install it on our car when Thule's instructions failed (they normally charge a fee for rack installation).  He got on the phone with Thule, and helped us figure it out.  The owner was also great at helping us select the car carrier that would be most practical / easy for one-person loading.  Kayak Corral also invited us to their annual picnic / kayak day trip (in September) where they provided some excellent workshops, a lovely kayak trip and terrific food.  It was nice to meet other kayakers and was yet another much-appreciated service from a very customer-focused business.   Can't recommend Kayak Corral highly enough!  Definitely the place to get your first kayak.  We have been back several times for additions to our kayaking gear, and have found the selection great and prices always fair and competitive.  The selection of boats and gear is huge.  Hard to imagine not finding what you need.  The expertise and helpfulness of the owners / staff is worth a trip to Saline.  We also had a problem with one of the foot pedals breaking a few weeks after purchase, and it was replaced immediately at no cost with zero hassle.In addition, their website provides very useful links for all kinds of kayak related information - lessons, trips, equipment, etc.
