The Solar Source

We love them. No leaking so far. On sunny days, they are really beautiful. On cloudy days they look like fluorescent lights until you get closer to them. Then, you realize that there is indeed some natural night coming through the tubes. I can finally add some houseplants to our home!

I went with the Solar Source because they are the premier dealer for Solatube products. I wanted it done right so that's why went with them. Rob, the Owner of the company was able to come out, give a estimate and set up a day for installation. He would have started on the day of the estimate but the weather/snow postponed the install. So even with the reschedule Rob kept in communication when he was coming and met those times. He was very easy to talk with, answered all my questions, didn't push any sales at me. So i had him install 4 solar tubes. One in my hall, stairwell, a larger one in my kitchen, and 1 bathroom vent with solar tube. The install went smooth and he cleaned up any debris before leaving. The Solartubes i got came with a solar nightlight. I wanted the angle adjusted on one and Rob was able to come out a couple days later and adjust it with no cost to me despite being on the other side of town. I'm happy with how everything went and will be having one more solar tube put in soon.

They were wonderful, I was very pleased.

Robert was prompt, helpful and attentive to the details. He left both rooms spotless with no evidence he had worked in the house. He had extra parts with him and several lenses to choose from when he arrived. This gave us a chance to try out a couple of lenses rather than just looking at them in a catalog - very helpful! The solar tubes provide an amazing amount of light and his advice on fixing the broken tube was right on the money. If we were adding any additional tubes, I would definitely work with Robert at The Solar Source again.

Robert came out and installed the 3 solatubes. One was installed in the bathroom, one in the kitchen and one in the living room. Everything from scheduling an appointment to the installation went very smoothly. Robert took care to cover areas before beginning the installation and did a complete cleanup afterwards. The tubes make a dramatic differencein the lighting of the house and I could not be happier with my purchase. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting additional natural light in their home.

We had a laundry room in the middle of the house that connected the garage and kitchen, with no windows. There was access to the roof above, so we went and checked out the skylight options. A friend recommended the SolaTube. The nearest dealer was The Solar Source, in St. Clair Shoes. We went to their showroom to check everything out.
Boy were we impressed! The showroom was large and nice, with lots of the SolaTubes installed and different options available to view. We met with an installer, and picked out a good choice for our laundry room.
They came out and installed the SolaTube skylight in about 2 hours. The installer was super-professional, and answered many of my questions. The SolaTube itself is amazing - we get LOTS of natural sunlight in the laundry room now, and the LED lights provide light at night when the sun is down (during a bright moon, it makes for a nice night-light). We got the upgrade with the extra motion sensor, and I'm glad that we did - it saves us from having to flip the light switch when our hands a re full of laundry.
Our friends and relatives are super- impressed with the light and the technology - we are definitely getting a few more SolaTubes installed from the solar source for other rooms in the house!

I made an appointment with Robert, from The Solar Source, at the home remodeling show in Auburn Hill. I told him I was happy with the two Solatubes that he installed 2 or 3 years ago, and wanted to have one put in my dark, non-windowed, half bath. He came to the house and gave me an estimate -- I gave the okay to go ahead and install the product. Everything went smoothly -- total time from start to finish was about three hours.

The first installation for the SolaTube was completed in about 90 minutes. The second install for the roof mounted solar exhaust fans plus the added insulation took about 2.5 hours. They were very professional and cleaned up the work areas. There was no messiness at all.
