I wouldn't dream of buying paint (except for Gardz) at a big box retailer. However, every time I go to Menards for a few gallons of primer, I walk out with all sorts of other stuff as well: socks, bird seed, cookies, a cute throw rug, a towel, plants, cat food, maybe a paperback book. They have a weirdly eclectic selection of goods for sale. It's sort of like Target and Home Despot rolled into one.
Also, when I shopped for a new front door and a replacement vinyl window last year, Menards was much cheaper than HD or Lowes.
