Creativity and Design - Josh came to our home and spent several hours discussing our ideas with us, then reviewing the property and making very creative suggestions. That was really fun! Then he came back with several variations fleshed out including estimated costs. He helped us make our decisions, but ultimately left them up to us, without judgement.
Professionalism - Josh was always friendly and polite, providing all the information we could possibly need. He gave written details of what the project would include and not include, gave an accurate estimate and drawings of proposed options. They took great care of our home and property. We allowed access to the house for water and bathroom facilities and they covered the floor where they would walk so as not to make any mess in the house. I was so impressed with that. In addition, Josh was fantastic at keeping us informed throughout the project. He would always tell us when they would be there next and, doggone it, they were always there when they said they'd be and on time. We were consistently kept well informed of progress and what was going to happen next. And from the first meeting to the end of the project, Josh really listened to us.
Quality of Work - The new deck is lovely to look at and meshes very well with the looks of our home. it is sturdy to walk on and we receive many compliments on how nice it is. The added touches that Josh suggested, such as tempered glass for the small amount of railing that was required, with solar lights on the posts, plus lighting in the steps all around the deck for safety and style, really add pizazz to the well-constructed main project.
When a planned feature was unable to be included due to physical limitation on the property, Josh advised us of the options, and did everything he could to make sure we were satisfied. When details of the construction required the price to deviate from the estimate, either up or down, he let us know. We had some prior experience with remodeling and this was in a completely different class in terms of timeliness, keeping us informed and cost deviations.
Also, we'd previously approached another company who'd done work for us recently and they were unresponsive (we had to ask them twicer for an estimate) and eventually they just gave us a cost sheet; no plans or descriptions of what the deck would look like afterward. They just proposed to cover our existing deck with vinyl and the cost was significantly greater than with Duo Painting and Remodeling and it didn't even include the extra footage we got with Duo. It really pointed up the good customer service provided by Duo.
