When Jason and his crew of Brian and Frank were able to start the work, they did a wonderful job. They always were on time and very pleasant and easy to work with. They never left a mess and were true professionals and highly skilled in remodeling and building.
We are going to have Jason and Company remodel our kitchen next and would not even consider having anyone else do the job.
Thank You Angie's List for helping us find this great company, Michigan Building & Design and Thank You Jason, Brian and Frank for a job well done, we are more than pleased.

Everything was wonderful. Jason went above and beyond to complete what I wanted done. In each area he made sure all details were handled, including matching our wood trim color and restaining where he changed out the flooring. We are excited to use him again to have more work done in our home!
"The work actually took place in March of 2012. Homeowner would track me down anywhere she could and leave reviews like this one. I had an attorney send her a cease and desist order after she posted here due to the false statements. The whole project was a disaster. She added work multiple times and actually told me she had a friend in Morocco who was sending her money so the extras would not be a problem. She owed me over $5000 and wasn't able to pay. I believe there are some mental issues with her. She declined all permits at the beginning and I told her I would repair everything if she paid me the money owed. The draw schedule for the project was completely back loaded I basically needed to purchase everything up front and then was paid by the finance company. At that time I was not in a situation where I could do that. Financing was already set up before I received the job by another contractor who she fired before work began. At the time I needed the work so I took the project. Lesson learned. I have done hundreds of projects since and this is by no means a reflection of my company. Jason Parent"
We had been told it was a 3-day job: 1) Removing old tiles 2) Laying the cement board & new tiles 3) grouting. They kept to their plan. It was the owner Jason Parent and his 6' 8" assistant Brian.
DAY 1: They moved 6 large items incl. large refrigerator & stove from the area. Then there were problems in removing the old tiles because the plywood was both stapled and glued to the 3/4" sub-floor. It ended up that they had to rent a sander to make sure the remnants of the plywood were removed and it was perfectly smooth to lay the cement board.
DAY 2: Installed the new dishwasher. Fixed sink leak. Laid the cement board & cut & glued the tiles. We almost were at an impasse because the new tile looked too orangey whereas the old tile was light tan. The netted five-rows of inch stones that we intended to serve as a threshold between the new & old tiles looked washed out. I mentioned that the saleswoman dampened them with water & it brought the color out. She said a coating would do the same. Jason just happened to have a can of sealant in his truck and that did the trick! We didn't have to go back & pick out new tile.
DAY 3: Grouted. Vacuumed & cleaned up marvelously. Replaced all the furniture etc. Examined the spigot & will replace in on Friday. Excellent job overall! We were quite pleased.
