Custom built, PVC privacy and picket and "Old Reliable" - chain link - both galvanized and vinyl covered. Each item is cut, finished and assemble just for you, high end fencing, of full-dimension White Cedar, powder coated steel picket and aluminum ("wrought iron" without the upkeep and initial expense), specific to your installation or order.

The work went well. Aproximately 70 feet of 6 foot high privacy fence with one 4 x 6 feet gate. The work was completed in 2 days plus a callback to realign the matching gate with the fence and adjust the latch. The callback resulted in a bout one additional hour. All was covered in the contracted cost. When we had additional fencing installed we called them firs, but they were not taking residential work. This was during Covid.

Absolutely no communication or supervision of the "crew" - two guys for such a big job who never worked more than five hours. They were clueless and unsupervised-encroached more than a foot onto our neighbor's property. They hung three panels crookedly with huge gaps. They noticed the gap and nailed a board over it. Sections of the fence were hung 3-6 inches higher than previous sections. Our house is built on a hill and instead there was gradual decrease in height, they just slapped huge sections together running up the hill. Many neighbors had comments. No one from the company ever came to inspect the "completed" job. No one called when the crew didn't show up for work. We were told we were five weeks out and they started eight weeks later. We called them and let them know there were huge issues with the installation. No one could be bothered to come out until four days later. We hired a carpenter to fix the numerous problems.

Initially things went OK. The estimate seemed good for the expected quality job. The two guys who came out seemed to be new and I questioned their post holes and the way they planned to level the back fence rather than line it in line with the angle of the land. They completed in a timely manner. The problem came two years later when 5 of the posts started leaning precariously into the neighbor's yard. I called they out and they gave me n estimate for $995 to fix the problem. when their guys came out I discovered that the holes were never deep enough (less than 2 feet not the 42 inches required). The reinstalled the post and panels but there was no price adjustment because of their error. Jump ahead to 2014 and it is going to cost another $1,000 to get 5 more posts replaced. I think a $10,000 investment should have lasted more thatn it did and that the first repairs should have had a price adjustment once they caw the bad job their guys did. Of course they are not getting anymore of my money and I will review one of the two companies I am getting an estimate from and end up hiring.

"Incredible. As of today (Sept. 11, 2014) there are still residents in our area without electricity caused by a strong storm that ripped through here late last week. Trees, some ancient (now uprooted, rootball and all) are still being removed from roofs and lawns. Roofs, dormers and siding, shredded by powerful winds, are still being mended. Toppled telephone posts are still being replanted. Downed power lines are being restrung. Note though that this storm was not particularly unique; in the five years since this particular fence was installed, there have been several storms (ten would be an educated guess) just as powerful, that have wreaked similar havoc and destruction on the eastside of Detroit. When telephone posts tumble down, the installer is not faulted; when power lines drop, the linesman is not blamed; when roofs are annihilated and siding is torn from the dormer, the roofer/sider is not held accountable; when trees are uprooted, the nurseryman's acumen is not called into question. Most folks understand that severe weather and the high winds that accompany it can and will cause destruction...so they do what comes naturally - they phone their insurance agent then get on with their lives. But then, there's the few: their fencing has the audacity to LEAN? OMG - let's berate the installation team in a public forum! Look, fences ARE NOT BULLETPROOF - they are subject to severe weather damage caused by the same elemental conditions as anything else left exposed and vulnerable. For sixty nine years, Modern Fence Company has honored a one year warranty on labor and material. Today, most of our quality materials possess manufacturer's warranties that will greatly extend their particular material's warranty (but excluding labor, of course). If you have reasonable expectations and want a great fence and can accept one year of warranty service, please call us. If you feel that your fence should stand up to weather conditions that cause widespread destruction to virtually everything else left exposed, please do not call us. At least one of us will be happier."
