M & D Concrete

It went great...at first. Was punctual & professional for the estimate. We got the estimate in April 2018 and gave him the go-ahead in April 2018, was told he was about a month out on jobs, we were understanding and not surprised by that. Then a month came and went, no communication or updates from this company. We asked for an update and was told “2-3 weeks”. They were “2-3 weeks out” from april until SEPTEMBER. If it wasn’t from us constantly asking for updates and how much longer, we never would have been given any updates at all, and i’m actually pretty confident as i write this (January 2019) it would not have been started by now! By the time I realized he was jerking us around all other concrete companies were booked for the year and not taking any new jobs. The porch came out looking like a porch when it was finally complete (yay for a new porch)....17 weeks later. I pointed out a concern in the work back in October 2018 like i can STICK MY HAND under the side of the porch where concrete should be, and ever since then we have just been given the run around. I have been patient, given him several chances and MONTHS to fix his work, but clearly he does not stand by his work. He does/gets the majority of his business from Facebook and like any professional business owner does, he blocked me on Facebook when I recently asked when he was going to fix his job from September 2018. He will not respond to any messages and clearly doesn’t stand by his work. I would also like everyone to know he forged his name on my check to him. I asked him who I should make the check out to, was told “m&d concrete”. I look at the copy of the cleared check and he inserted his own name and put MY initials on it. I’m no lawyer but that sounds like forgery to me. See attached photos of completed porch job. (Photos with brick was the old porch) AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
