When our 5 year old side by side refrigerator took a dump and needed a new compressor, he was totally honest and told us it would be cheaper to buy a new one. The compressor would have cost about $600, and we ended up getting a new fridge for $800. He was prompt and professional and explained in detail how it worked and what was wrong and the pricing on new parts. He didn't even charge us for the service call. I used him again when I put my elderly mothers' house up for sale and the double wall oven wouldn't work because of the electronic control panel. When I priced a new one, it was over $1300 for a replacement oven. He came out and diagnosed the problem as one of two electronic parts. He ordered the cheaper of the two parts, and came out after hours to install it. It ended up not solving the problem, so he ordered the more expensive control panel and came out again after hours to accommodate my work schedule. He returned the old part, and didn't even charge me for the second call. He is very honest, and unlike other repair companies I have had in the past, will tell you whether the item is worth repairing. I will be using him whenever I have an appliance problem from now on.
