Eighty one-year-old senior citizen didn't know the thermostat needed new AA batteries so this company graciously accommodated him by charging him $176 to replace them. Took them 10 minutes to replace them and cycle the furnace. Company is literally four blocks from this gentleman's home. They are ripoff masters ala extreme. Go elsewhere and save your hard earned money for someone who values your business and respects your wallet. I can only compare this company to the creep who jacked the prices on insulin 700%. Avoid them at all cost.

I have an annual service contract with them, I think the cost of that was $180. The service call they didn't charge for because I have an agreement, but the circuit board was $450. They did A work. The price of the circuit board I thought was a little high, but it wasn't their fault, they got it from the company that produced the furnace. They're a good organization.

Charged $133 to tell us we needed a new air relief valve at an estimated cost of $1,000. Got a second opinion from another local HVAC contractor, who confirmed the problem and replaced the valve for under $200.

once they get to know you they try to take advantage of you
a 1595.00 tank less water heater becomes a 3600.00 projected
i had a different brand and the board went out
we had no hot water
Blakeslee sold me a lesser quality and then tried to charge me 2000.00 for 3hrs of service ($666.66 hr)
Once i found out the lesser quality of unit i asked for a reduction in cost they did by $500.00
now we are down to $500.00 an hr
their normal price for plumbers are $120.00/hr
now their telling me "they're doing me a favor"

They’ve very dependable and we like it because they’re local. If they say they're going to do something they do it. They are a very professional company and their service professional are always on-time. They also wear the booties, which I appreciate. We are happy with their prices and find them to be reasonable. Tech showed up a little late, but made up for it during his inspection. He went above and beyond in performing a heating system tuneup/check and explained everything to me that I cared to ask. He even gave my humidifier system the once over for free! We are new home owners and have never worked with this type of furnace (forced air) and because of that he took the time to make sure it was up to snuff, along with any recommendations he had (how often to change the air filter, what the humidity should be set at, etc...).
I would very much recommend them to a friend, and will be using them again in the spring for an AC check.

Initially we had a leak underneath the sink and didn't know whether it was behind the wall, or even how to diagnose. I called Blakeslee and I was glad I did. Receiptionist was exceptionally nice and helpful and was able to arrange for someone to come out the next day within a 2-hour window. She called to confirm the appointment when he was on his way, and he arrived right on time. He reviewed their work procedures and fee policy up front (they have a base trip fee that covers the visit and analysis, then they explain what the issue is and the estimated cost and get approval before proceeding). He was able to not only quickly determine the source of the leak and fix it (turned out to be minor, whew!) but also to fix the slow drain on that sink and a tub in another room, and to inspect a very aging water softner with me. He discussed and explained various issues in detail regarding the softner and our plumbing...obviously very experienced and knowledgable. He provided an estimate on a new softner with no 'hard sell'...just facts and information that would help us decide how to proceed.
We then had Blakeslee & Son replace our water heater, water softner and well pressure tank with new ones as well as install a whole-house filter. They also replaced several nearby plumbing pipes that were corroded and aging. I never thought I'd say that going through all that would be enjoyable, but it was! After watching home shows like 'Holmes on Homes' for years, and with this being our first home, we are nervous about contractors and wanted to make sure that we were 'informed homeowners' so we asked lots of questions. Throughout the process, Blakeslee & Son, and especially Andrew, were wonderful. Every question was completely answered professionally with obvious knowledge,experience, and honesty. (If they didn't know, they would find out and get back to us. If a price seemed high, they explained why it was that way.) During the visit for the estimate, Andrew fully explained our options, what his recommendations would be and why. During installation he again explained what was being done, showed us how the systems worked and should be maintained, labeled everything, and answered every nit-picky question I could think of. The work was done in a completely professional manner, and Andrew followed up a week later to ensure that everything was completed to our satisfaction (fixed a very small leak at that time at no additional cost). Then we had a problem with low water pressure, and they came out immediately and diagnosed it (new filter was clogged from rust from older disturbed pipes) and corrected it at no cost. Andrew seems to be one of those rare people who is both very proficient in his trade and can communicate well with homeowners so it became both a well-done upgrade and a learning process for us. Everyone we worked with were very pleasant and professional. We will not hesitate to contact Blakeslee & Son for any future work we might need done.

The price depends on which company's product we choose. They are wonderful. They are really efficient and they had the unit working in two days. They did a beautiful job. They are very concerned about the neatness. They wear little booties, so they don't leave the track around. They covered the staircase to ensure that it remains clean while going up and down stairs. They are very conscientious that way. We got our money's worth work. They were very quick to respond. They were very punctual. They were referred to us by our in laws.

They were fine for that but I have called them for some other things and other entry as far as to find appointment, you have to pay for, they won’t tell you anything over the phone. So probably I won’t use them again. They won’t do anything or help you without them coming out and you paying for a service call. They say, they cannot tell you anything over the phone not even what they might be looking for in a service call. Price wise they are higher because they won’t even talk to you without paying. Quality wise they even broke something while they were here. They replaced it but at first they tried to settle me out of it. I will not use them in the future.

Overall, everything that they did was absolutely excellent. We spent about $3000. Everything that they did was of excellent quality. When somebody comes in and gives a bid for a furnace replacement, they are going to tell you what they are going to do, what kind of unit they have and how much it costs. If you accept the bid, then they send somebody out to look at it and tell you and give you an idea of what is going to happen. Then they send the people out to take your furnace away and put the new one in. Everything that they did from the stage of replacing our furnace, hauling the other one away, customer service wise, price wise and type of service were all excellent.

They were pretty quick. Actually they were very understanding because they gave us sort of discounts on the new toilets, as they have repaired our old toilets pretty often. They felt just bad because they were repairing the old ones. I don't have anything specific to recommend about them, but their prices were reasonable. Their service was much as I would expect.

No well - they did not show up when promiesed and I was surprised as we had used them before. When I called to say the service tech was a no show, I was treated poorly and just told that is "too bad" in so many words. They said they were too busy and they only had a few openings that could be scheduled. When I asked why no one called to say they would not arrive as stated, I was told zgain "too bad" sometimes the techs just forget. NO apology or any attempt to accomodate our schedule. As both my wife and I work, I had taken off work for the appontment and therefore lost wages. Needless to say, I did not reschedule nor ever consider using them again. I am still disappointed in them and tell everyone I know about the bad service I received over 10 years ago.

My initial experience was great. We moved into our new home and I woke up the first morning (on a Sunday) to find my heat off. One of the sons walked the through getting it turned back on that morning over the phone so that I didn't have to pay for an emergency call and so that I didn't freeze. That was awesome. I was really happy about it. Monday someone came over and said, "Well it is working and we can't really tell what is wrong unless it is off." That made sense but it meant that I had to wait for the problem to repeat to get it fixed...of course it would only happen on weekends. A few months later I got it to happen during the week, they came that morning to look at it. He cleaned the pilot light and replaced one small part and said that is should fix it. I got a bill later that included a part I don't remember him putting in and when I contacted them about it I never got a response... Also, since this was done in March I turned off the heat for the summer not long after and lo and behold when winter came around again last year the same problem came back. I had someone else come out (with the heat on this time) he diagnosed the problem as the electric that feeds the system, replaced that and we have not had a problem since. All and all, I was NOT happy with my experience, especially not getting any response to my questions about the mystery part.

They were right on time and worked late to get the job done. They were creative in figuring out a way to use a zoning system with one furnace to replace my previous two furnaces, which both needed replacing. They managed to save me $5,000 by doing this.

My air conditioning system wouldn't start. I called Blakeslee about 3:00 PM to request service. They explained that a service call would be $63, and that charges are payable upon completion of service. They called back within 10 minutes to tell me that one of their techs had just checked out of their call and was available to be at my home in 10 or 15 minutes. Larry arrived about 3:30 and quickly corrected the problem. He did some further checking and then left.
