From a signed contract to final completion of the project was a breeze. Scott, Cathy, Jay, and the Matts were all incredibly great people to work with. They were accommodating, polite, and responsive. Every day they were here working and left each evening cleaning up after themselves. I would hire them again in a heart beat.

We needed to have our kitchen and adjacent laundry room renovated, and we love what Dunbar did for us -- the project management, craftsmanship, and anticipation of what we needed. We had had a pipe leak that caused damage, so we took the opportunity to redo both areas. We were given a recommendation for Dunbar, who were able to start within a couple of weeks (to me, not at all bad in this time of Covid). My wife has a disability that had to be taken into account: They anticipated her needs, suggested meaningful ideas, and made it work. I'm impressed with the result. The space is comfortable. They solved some key problems for us that would otherwise have popped up before long. Their attention to detail was very good. (We had some work done years ago by a well-known kitchen company, who cut corners and left some problems we discovered only later. Dunbar did far better). And I liked the guys who worked here. In all, we are happy and impressed.

Scott, Cathy, and the whole Dunbar Construction team are absolutely terrific. My parents have used them twice for two separate additions in the past so when it came time to select a construction company to head up the renovation for our new home, we called Dunbar Construction.
Everything started with the quoting process, which Scott was extremely thorough and patient for. He made sure we understood all the potential challenges that could arise and gave us a rough timeline to completion. It took several meetings to break everything down, and from day one Scott left us very confident that his team would execute to give us the home of our dreams.
Demo started the first week in February and here we are in late May and we've been about 99% complete for two weeks, just waiting on a new wood hood to go over our cooktop (the cabinet company ordered us the wrong size the first time).
Throughout construction Scott and his team made sure to keep the construction site clean and organized. We were not living in the home during construction, but no matter what night we visited to see the latest, the floors were clean and the tools all put away despite the ongoing work. Everyone on the team is courteous and professional: pleases, thank yous, will answer any questions, always on time each day, etc. 
We couldn't be happier with the end product and would, without question, use Dunbar Construction again. It is extremely difficult to find a group that will go above and beyond, each and every day, to get to the end goal. Our family found that with Dunbar Construction.

Great.  They took our kitchen down to the studs, took out a wall, built a granite table and redid the cabinets.  Very professional, courteous, punctual, and clean.  They finished on time and within budget.

Scott and his crew are amazing! So friendly, trusting, talented, hard working and overall great people! There were super easy to work with and offered many suggestions to help us make the best possible choices. They were on time every day and worked hard all day long as staying on track of schedule is very important to them. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. I have not desire to look anywhere else for future needs and will absolutely be using them again! We highly recommend them for any construction job, big or small, they can do it all! We look forward to having them back to help us with our next renovation.

We are extremely happy with the work Dunbar Construction did renovating our kitchen. Scott and his crew were honest, professional, and the attention to detail was phenomenal. We knew that the company was a great fit from the first day Scott came out to the house. He understood our vision and invested time into understanding the house and limits before quoting the job. Dunbar Construction made it very easy for us throughout the process. They were respectful of our budget and continued to work with us and provide suggestions on ways to get what we wanted within the budget. They were also one of the only companies who asked what our budget was before they quoted us. The whole crew was professional and we were very comfortable with all their employees in our home. At the end of each day – they would clean up the entire area they were working on. They were even good with our dogs when we left them home. Scott and his team are very detailed and perfectionists, even down to the smallest unit of measurement that you may think no one would notice. The end result surpassed our expectations and we have received many compliments already on the quality of work that was done! We would definitely recommend Dunbar Construction to anybody looking for a high quality home project or renovation. We plan to contact them again when we start our next project.

Dunbar Construction Inc are the most wonderful group of people I know. They are so professional, neat, clean and punctual. They're great. I've seen a lot of their work and it's spectaculars. They came highly recommended to me and I recommend them equally highly.

Dunbar Construction has been my family's go-to contractor for over 15 years and has done renovations for the majority of our extended family. Originally, Scott and Cathy worked on my parents' house and did a complete renovation of the home about 12-13 years ago. When my husband and I bought our fist home 3 years ago, we knew we would have to do some significant renovations to bring it into the 21st century. There was no question that Dunbar would do the work for us. They are extraordinarily meticulous, organized, professional, and trust-worthy.


Scott came over to look at the work we requests and promptly got back to us with a very detailed quote, which outlined the material costs and labor costs for each piece of the renovations. Once we signed the contract, they were clear about when they could start the work and the estimated completion date. Cathy reached out to us to tell us which materials required the longest lead time and make sure that we were on schedule with our material selections. The payment schedule was always clear and we never paid before work was completed. Cathy did a great job organizing the schedule and ensuring that everything was completed on time, which is extremely rare for construction work. She's more Type A than I am - and I'm pretty meticulous. ;)


Scott did an amazing job at shielding us from any problems that came up during the renovations - they were truly hassle-free. He made sure to inform us of any issues that came up, but always had a solution in-hand. For instance, after our bamboo flooring was ordered, we realized that it was thinner than our previous flooring, so there would be a gap between the door moldings and the floor throughout the main level. Scott called to inform us of the issue but said that he would take care of it and put in small pieces of molding to fill in the gaps. He made it look absolutely beautiful and seamless.


One of the really unique things about Scott and Cathy is that they will do their best to accommodate all of your requests but will never promise to do something that can't or shouldn't be done. For instance, we wanted to put a bathroom in our basement and Scott was concerned about finding a place where we could put it to ensure that the plumbing would all work properly based on incline of the basement. He said that he was confident it could be done, but also worked with us to create a plan B in case it couldn't happen. After breaking up some concrete in the basement, they found that the bathroom could be installed and we've had no problem with the plumbing whatsoever.


We are completely happy with the work that Dunbar has done for our home. Everything has held up perfectly and we so appreciate the home that they've created for our family. They will, without a doubt, be our contractor for all future renovations.

Scott walked me through the selection of materials and was able to interpret exactly what was in my head into reality. His prediction of 3 weeks to complete the job was precisely right. The crew tore everything out, the next week the cabinets arrived. Once they were installed it was time to paint, lay the hardwood floor and complete the doorways. The next week the granite countertops went in and then the finish work completed. Everyday they left the workspace and garage neat and clean.

This was about a 3 month project.  Scott Dunbar estimated the time it would take and he met the deadline.  Everything ran very smoothly.  We had some concerns about a drywall section that was not as smooth as we would like but they came back in and redid it.
