My furnace kept kicking on and off a bit too often, although I cannot say for sure if this was a bona fide issue in and of itself. I just felt like I was noticing something. But one of Gary's sons came out and cleaned the furnace, and I was very happy with the outcome. Things seemed to be working great. Gary actually installed my furnace about 20 years ago. And I suppose you can say it is a credit to him that I did not have any issues until now. Also as a credit to Gary and his sons, they could have replaced a part when they were here, but they said later they did not want to start mentioning parts that should be replaced because one can never know exactly how long they might last ... and also, sometimes homeowners are leery of contractors, like myself. I am a single mom and admit that it can sometimes be difficult to try and find decent people -- which is obviously why I am a member of Angie's List. and quot;Decentand quot; is a good word for this company because they really do seem like decent, genuine people. In any event, he came back to the house later down the road, as it was getting chilly in the house. He saw that they probably could have replaced the part, after all. He showed me the ignitor and how it was very brittle and crumbled to pieces. He didn't even want to charge me for it, but I insisted. There are many reasons it is obvious to me that they are good people, and they seemed cognizant of the fact that I had heard a couple of horror stories about furnace contractors, as many of us have. Gary did a good job many years ago and he is still great. I think he wanted to earn my trust a second time (which in retrospect, he shouldn't have had to do if he already worked for me in the past), even if he was going to make little or nothing. I am very surprised there are not more reviews for this company. If you are concerned about finding good contractors you can trust, like I am, I would definitely recommend calling AIR Heating and Refrigeration. They seem to honestly care about people, which is very important. You can always find someone who will do a pretty good job, but it's a plus when it's obvious a company is trying to provide an honest, decent, dependable service to their customers. I really like them as people.

Furnace stopped working. AIR determined it to be a bad gas valve. Replaced valve and furnace has worked well since repair.

We have used AIR since 1989 for all our furnace, humidifier, and A/C needs. They are a small family company, very prompt and courteous with fair prices. Have recommended them many times to family and friends.

He is very responsive. It was a holiday and our air conditioner was malfunctioning and they came. He has three sons that worked with him and they're all just super friendly and knowledgeable. I had a situation where the control panel in my furnace went out and it was about a $250 part and that has been on this house for several years and he said "you know I think there's been a sort of a silent recall on this panel. I tell you what I'll do, I'm not gonna charge you anything for this, I'm gonna send this in as a warranty claim and if they don't honor it then I'll bill you" and he never did. Their prices are very fair. I had a neighbor who was out of town many years ago and his neighbor discovered water coming out of his garage door and it was the middle of winter. I had a key to the house, I went there and found out their furnace fan had become inoperable and although they had the furnace running in the house, it didn't blow any heat into the house so I called Gary and he was probably there in 30 minutes and fixed the thing in moments. He is a good guy, that person you feel confident working on your house.
