Ken performed masonary work on home in Aug 2014. I had a longstanding water issue that in the end was not expensive to fix, just needed someone to be willing to take on the job and Ken was the guy. Once we determined what needed to be done, Ken was up for the task and willing to take on the work. The project took about 3 days. He removed about 4 rows of brick from the face of my home and about 10 feet in length. He then installed some thru wall flashing and was able to use the majority of the original bricks when he re-bricked the home. Ken was always reachable, mostly thru text or email as he is a busy guy. You will understand why once you work with him. Very detailed, honest and thorough. really knows his stuff. I would definitely recommend Ken to anyone who needs brick work performed.
Description of Work: Removed Brick from above a bay window and installed new flashing and re-bricked.

Description of Work: We cannot say enough about Mr. Cressy. He was honest, informative and professional. When he came out he examined what needed to be done and went about the business of completing the job-- exceeding expectations. Only wish he was available to do more work for us.

It's HARD to find a good mason. (Believe me... I'm still trying to get my money back from one who did terrible work for me a couple years ago!) Ken is a top-notch mason. He went above and beyond to do an excellent job for a very reasonable price. He was able to work around different challenges that came up, worked well with the other contractors (who were doing the wood portion of the porch), and did it all with a smile. He paid attention to the smallest details - putting up a temporary mailbox while the porch was inaccessible, cleaning up every bit of debris / trash, dying the mortar because he noticed the existing mortar had a slightly reddish hue. I will definitely go back to him with any masonry needs.
Description of Work: Took apart hundred year old, brick front porch walls, cleaned bricks, poured new foundation and rebuilt to match.

Ken was very professional from the initial estimate to finishing the project. He was very courteous, polite and respectful to our wishes. Once the project started we were further impressed by his preparation and his hard work. He planned very well and had all the tools and supplies necessary to do the job. He was very flexible and patient as we had to postpone the project due to rain. My husband is VERY particular and Ken's work pleased him (which says alot!) I found Ken on Angie's list a couple of years ago, but he was busy so we used someone else for our job, really wished we would have waited and used Ken! I'm finding that most good contractors are busy, so it is definitely worth the wait. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Ken repaired and replaced several areas of brick and mortar around our house.

Mr Cressy took the old knee wall down, hauled away the old brick, rebuilt the wall foundation, replaced with new brick (a perfect match to my existing 38 year old brick). The replacement of the sandstone threshold went just as well and looks better than before. The stair step crack in the mortar has all but disappeared when looking at the brick wall.Mr Cressy was prompt, professional, very courteous, and performed excellent work. I would not hesitate to refer Mr Cressy to my friends and neighbors. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of his work as well as his attention to the details. Need brick work? Mr Cressy is your guy. Thanks to Angie's List as well.

Ken gave my house a very thorough and thoughtful inspection and prepared an estimate that I understood. He also helped me decide which other repairs could wait, and is also preparing an estimate to recap my roof and replace part of the driveway.Ken spent a good part of his day doing this work, and worked on clean-up into the evening. The results are lovely...like a whole new porch. He even came back a day or two later to add some caulk. Ken's demeanor is very professional and respectful. I am pleased with the work and would rehire him in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Ken replaced broken bricks on one end of my porch, fixed two second-story window ledges that had pieces broken off, and did several other minor repairs.

Kenneth was one of the masons referred to us by the water leak detection contractor we had out. The leak detection contractor pin pointed the leak to the chimney above our roof line. The cap (looked like a homeowners repair special was previously done) and various small holes in the side of the chimney in the joints were mortar had given way. Kenneth advised that we did not need to do a tear down and rebuild but could have the sides of the chimney repaired and the cap repaired (actually done correctly). Where the chimney met the roof line, everything looked good (flashing, etc.). After the initial inspection, Kenneth set up a date. Due to rain we had to reschedule twice. The repairs took about 2.5 hours. There was not a speck of debris or other items left on the roof or lawn. He walked through what he did and advised us to apply a sealer to help the brick from absorbing moisture. He also cautioned that depending on how many years we plan to stay in the house, the chimney eventually will need replacement.
Description of Work: Repair small holes in chimney and repair cap.
