Houghton Lake Tent and Table

We ended up cancelling two months before the wedding and the owner said he would refund my deposit but he had to get the "girl downstate" to initiate the refund. He indicated it would take two weeks. After two weeks, I called again and he said he was working on it. Another two weeks and said the check would be mailed by the end of the week. Again, no check and then he stopped answering my phone calls. He answered when I put my phone on private caller. He said he would mail it by the end of the week but it takes the post office a week to deliver it. After another week, I used my sister's phone (different area code) and he answered. When he realized it was me, he said he couldn't talk. He abruptly said he put the check in the mail on Monday and again it would take at least a week. After another week, I still didn't receive the check. Long story short, the owner repeatedly lied to me. I should have been suspicious when he required that my deposit check be made to his wife and not his company. Furthermore, he was unprofessional when I initially called to reserve the chairs; he went on and on about how awful the venue was that my son was getting married at. I would definitely not recommend doing business with this company.
