I would have given 1 star, but Jim came out the same day... I noticed a leak in my ceiling. Jim came out to fix the leak. He was on my roof for 2 minutes then showed me some pictures of shingles on my roof and the siding around my chimney. He said he was 90% sure the leak was caused by a gap in the siding at the top of the chimney. I asked him to look in the attic. I would have assumed any person fixing a roof leak would need to look in the attic to determine exactly where the leak is coming from, instead I was told that caulking around the chimney would more than likely fix the leak. He said if the roof still leaks, it is due to cracked shingles. He also said my roof needed to be replaced because all of the shingles were cracked. He said the shingles are 8-15 year shingles and since the house is 22 years old they need to be replaced....I bought the house less than 1 year ago and the inspector told me they were 30 year shingles and I have 7-10 years before replacement is needed. The kicker is after I asked him to go in the attic, he opened the lid and TOLD ME I HAVE MOLD IN MY ATTIC! He said I needed to spend $30,000 for a new roof, new siding around my chimney, and to remove the mold. He said the mold was all over the trusses and the plywood.... The next day I went in the attic myself and found no mold. It appeared the trusses were dirty when the house was built. No other boards were dirty. It was obvious there is no mold. I then got on a ladder and looked at the shingles on the roof, there were a couple cracked shingles, but not many (certainly not the entire roof as I was told). While I was in the attic, during a rain storm, i noticed the plywood was completely dry....I just wanted someone to fix a leak and was told I needed to spend $30,000. He couldn't even guarantee the leak was fixed! He charged me $160 for a 90% chance of fixing it! How do you not definitively determine where the leak is?

two workers came. got on the job immediately and finished in two hours. plus the weather was 14 degrees with a wind chill of two degrees.
