Hall's Drywall

The estimate came in at what others were going for and I liked the feel of the business. It is a family business. Everyone is related. On the day of the job, the workers were timely and set up quickly and were extremely neat. They put paper down everywhere so there wouldn't be a mess. The drywall went up extremely fast and everything went extremely smoothly. The younger crew that hung the drywall left and the elder Hall came, who is the one that does the finishing work (taping and mudding, etc). He came back several days in a row to finish the room with the mudding and then priming. Each day he was prompt. On the last day after he left my fiance (who has a background in building) came and looked over the work. There were many spots that we had concerns about. When you pay for a room to be done you expect to be able to go in and paint. There were rough areas, areas with bubbles and pits, some areas where there were gouges and EVERY corner had deep grooves. We called and expressed our concerns. We were instructed to circle each area with a pencil, which we did. The older gentleman came back to fix the areas. He was here for a half hour and left. He touched up SOME of the areas, but not all. We never saw him again despite multiple calls. Eventually (due to a time frame and needing the room) my fiance ended up purchasing some drywall tools and finished the problems himself. We took pictures and asked the business for 10% back as we felt that would be a fair settlement.  It took my fiance a few hours to fix the problems and we had spent a bit of money on supplies to fix what they should have fixed anyway. We have not seen a check and have not heard back from them except for a rude voicemail left by the elder Hall.
