Unfortunately -- it did not go well.  Due to a rainy Spring/Summer -- they were delayed in the job.  This is perfectly understandable -- however I was pushed out for 6 weeks, but no one called to tell me the status.  I had to call repeatedly to determine their timing and twice they didn't show up when they communicated they would. 
When they did most of the job -- they appeared to do well.  They even offered free mulch to apologize for their lack of communication.  I was thinking great -- this is how you treat customers.  However -- once they left and I paid for their services is when the trouble started.  After their work was done we left on vacation only to come home and realize they had ruined one of our sprinkler heads.  It was bent and while we were away of course we had the sprinklers on to water the new seed they had put in place for the re-grading.  However -- now there is a hole in the yard where the bent sprinkler head blew out water.  I requested they come to fix the sprinkler head as well as fix the hole that was created.  Someone came out -- but it was not fixed.  In addition the plants they planted are dying and a bush they moved is completely dead.  I also looked closer and realized they did not finish all the re-edging of all the beds nor the new one they put in.  It looks awful and grass is already growing into the beds.
In the past 7 days I have contacted them 5 times without a return phone call.  This is definitely the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor and to know I just spent $3,000 for this makes my stomach churn.  To know I will have to pay more money and find more time to fix what they broke, buy soil and seed to fill the hole, and clean out the beds -- makes my stomach hurt worse.
