Generally went well except I didn't like the choice of dropping the pipe low in the middle of the room to avoid other pipes. I had them come back and re-route to avoid lowering the pipes. They were responsive and were willing to fix the issue and came back to address my concerns. Other than that issue, the project went well but I was happy with them fixing it.

Absolute Waterproofing Solutions are in a class by themselves. This is the second time I have needed to fix a leak in my relatively new home basement (different places, different causes }. They work fast, are the best informed basement waterproofing company, using the latest industry technology. I have used. Their work is meticulous and guaranteed.

We had an ongoing issue where water would occasionally creep into our finished basement where the wall and floor meet. Part of our problem is due to iron ochre buildup in the soil which clogs my drain tiles. After the last time of ripping up part of the laminate floor, I decided to look into waterproofing solutions. I had two other companies come and try to sell me the moon. One wanted $23k and I would have to cut out the drywall and do a bunch of prep work myself. Rick Jacobs, the owner of Absolute Waterproofing came to my house to give me the estimate himself. He was very thorough, not pushy, and gave me a price much less than the competitors. Plus they did all the prep work and put the drywall and paneling that had to be removed back in place. We just finished yesterday, and so far I'm very pleased. I still have a lot of work to do in putting our basement back together and making it look nice again, but the crew that Rick sent to do the initial waterproofing and the putting back together a few weeks later were very prompt and courteous and hard working. So far, we're very happy with everything.

Incredibly well! I was skeptical, but they fixed the problem,. The two-man team cut a trench in the perimeter of the affected area, installed the draining system and sump pump, and covered the draining system with new smooth concrete. No more water!!! Incidentally, when we called Absolute, we were scheduled to leave Michigan for our Florida winter home in less than a week. They understood our urgency and got it done so we could leave as planned.

I am writing this on behalf of my 86-year-old mother. She is happy so far with the drainage system installed in the basement (in July 2017). However, the backyard sump pump drainage system (also installed in July 2017) heaved up partially out of the ground after the first heavy use, and despite repeated calls and assurances that someone would come out "when we are in the area", nobody has come to look at the problem or even called back. I am extremely disappointed that the company has not stood behind this $3,700 purchase. Besides the heaving, the system has design flaws that include continual cycling of the sump pump because the drain line (holding about 18 gallons) drains back to the tank and causes the sump pump to trip on (over and over and over again...) at each use. Because of this, the system can only be operated manually. There is also a 3-4 foot geyser at the curb each time the sump pump turns on that could give a sidewalk pedestrian a shower. It is quite obvious that the system was not tested after installation. None of these things would prompt a major complaint if the company had been responsive to calls or had shown any sort of a willingness to fix the problems. Although the basement system seems okay so far, I cannot recommend this company because of their poor customer service with the backyard system.

The job was done in just 3 days. I've had no water in my basement since, even though there have been some heavy rains. The workers were friendly and answered questions. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards.

Terrible. They made a horrible mess He said I was lying because they would not make a mess. He said he would fire them if they did. He finally came over and saw what a mess it was He complained because the job was harder than he thought it was going to be. They did not waterproof anything-just drilled holes in the wall so it would run out on the floor. When I was contemplating what to do, he stormed over, and started swearing at me. He got physical with me. There were 3 other men there observing. I called the police because I was afraid he would come back when I was alone. His crew also took some of my things-he again called me a liar. He wanted me to pay $7000. I paid more than that to have his mess cleaned up.. I found out AFTER I hired him that his license had been REVOKED from the state, which means a pretty serious action. I heard so many other stories about him doing the same thing to others. He tried to sue me, but his lawyer talked him out of it because it would cost him a lot of money and he would still lose. The positive reviews must have been written him, because I have not heard one single positive thing about him.

Not the best, straps were not flat on walls, waited 3 weeks for them to come back and fix the problem. Finish on cement when done was rough and some holes in it, and they got cement dust in carpet that they failed to cover.

Horrible! They did not fix the problem by using their b-dry system, jack hammering my basement, which got dust everywhere in the house! Putting plastic on the wall, then making a foot long trench down the stairs, along the walls leading to another drain. Then cemented it as in the pictures. But the water continues to come in from the wall. They came back out and said they would fix the problem by digging a trench on the outside of the house and put in piping to the storm sewer for no additional charge. I have attempted to contact them several times, leaving messages and they do not return my calls! In the meantime, my basement continues to leak!!!!

"When I originally inspected the basement on 1-28-17 I found water leaking from a wall along the concrete steps leading to the basement. On February 24th 2017 we installed our Drain Eze system with drain tubing and stone to an existing sump. We also wrapped the leaking wall with a 25mil vinyl as seen in one photo. This vinyl wrap, (Aqua Shield,) forces any leaks into our Drain Eze, then into the drain tubing and ultimately to the sump. Breaking out thick concrete steps is going to create some dust. We always use plastic to seal our work area from the rest of the basement and the house. This is my first knowledge that any dust appeared anywhere throughout other areas of the home, in particular the upstairs living area. It seems curious that Ms. [Member Name Removed] has never mentioned this to myself or either of my offices. Upon one of my returns I discovered that water was now coming from under the concrete slab at the top step. This water, as visible in the photos, can flow down the steps and onto the basement floor giving the illusion that it is coming from all the steps or from the wrapped wall. However, this is not the case. The house addition was built over the said slab. The back door is within 6 feet of the top of the steps. Outside this door is a rain gutter downspout that goes nowhere. It is this downspout that is causing the added problem. Although we addressed the wall leakage, the slab leakage remained unseen until winter was over. Even though our warranties expressly address it is the homeowners responsibility to maintain working gutters and downspouts, I was willing to help Ms. [Member Name Removed] by extending the bad downspout approximately 100 feet to a catch basin at our expense. Then on or about April 30 Ms. [Member Name Removed] informed me that she had corrected the downspout. That was the last time I have heard from her, and assumed any further water issues had been abated. The claim that we have not return her calls is nonsense by her own admission. I have inspected her problem on more than one occasion, and offered a solution at our expense on another occasion, only to be told she addressed her own problem. Its all very confusing. However, we are still willing to resolve this issue. Rick J. Jacobs"

They had to come out three times, and they were very rude. Took three trips. The owner is yelling at me both on the phone, and on the property. I think that is unprofessional. He could listen to his customers, and not be a jerk. I told him what his crew did, and he called me an liar. When he came out, and showed him, he was yelling at me the whole time. I showed him the truth, and he didn't even apologize. I wouldn't recommend him. There are other people out there that would treat you better.
Response from Absolute Waterproofing Solutions
"When it comes to this job site and the issue in which this previous customer refused to mention in this review had nothing to do with the system we put in. In fact he had a leaking hose that was left underneath his front porch that eventually flooded so badly it made it's way back in to the basement creating a bigger issue then he had previously. We stand true to our word as a company and yes made many trips out there to help this gentleman and show him that the issue was because of poor maintenance of house hold duties and not the work we had done for him. When it came to speaking with him and the realization of the hose being left under the porch he quickly became angered and it resulted with him verbally insulting the Company and our crew members. Rick Jacobs who is owner and head Inspector of the Company took over the situation as professional as possible and spoke sternly to the customer over the unfortunate incident to make sure it was clear not to speak or treat the crew poorly again. We went out of our way to help this customer and in the end unfortunately after extending our efforts in making him happy, we failed. We appreciate the feed back and trust our crew members and inspectors to complete any job with the 100% satisfaction of any of our Customers."

The crew show up at 9am and were done at 3pm. You could not tell they were here except the wonderful work they did. It was more then we expected. The crew was very friendly and clean. Talk do us about everything the did and did a great clean up. I would recommend them to anyone. The owner Rick gave us three of his competiters name to see if they could beat his price or work. Great company glad we used them. Wayne and Camille Wheeler

This company came when expected. There was a call the morning they were to come but no call the evening before as expected. The men were professional and worked very well together. They protected the environment and cleaned up thoroughly. They were friendly to my dogs and very polite. I am very happy with the walk-through and explanations given to my questions. I would use again. The workmen did find two holes of standing water and another crawl space that I did not know about that had been covered up or at least not visible to myself nor was it visible to Rick when he did the initial estimate. He was more than fair on taking care of additional supplies and labor with minimal charge for supplies and labor.

I had a complex situation which included a surprise underground cement wall that had to be eliminated before drain tile and sump pump could be installed. The project needed to be tweaked a couple of times before it worked perfectly, but Rick was great about responding to my concerns and I am very pleased with the results. The only glitch I would mention is that while Rick was excellent about returning calls, there were a couple of times when the crew was supposed to call to let us know when they were coming but they did not. However, I have not had a drop of water in the basement since the work was done! What a relief!
