In April 2012, strong winds blew 1/4 of a 110-year old maple tree down, hitting the fence surrounding the propane tank next to the house. Since the huge trunk segment was hovering two feet over the tank, Robinson's came out immediately and went to work. They had cut all the branches off and were just about to take the last cut on the trunk when the ropes stretched, the trunk crushed the fence, hit the tank, broke off the valve, and rolled the 500 gallon, just-filled tank. Propane spewed out; the gas was away from the house but pointing toward the gas tank of the cherry picker. Fortunately, the motor was off. Robinson's immediately called the fire department, the propane company, and got me out of the house. We were evacutated for 24 hours, and Robinson's insurance company paid for our room and board, the fire department bill, fixing the tank and replacing the propane, and replacing the fence and assorted shrubbery crushed. A week later another wind blew the remainer of the tree down - 1/4 south in the road and another 1/4 east over our drive an hour later. Robinson's helped clean up that mess as well. On July 5, another bad wind storm/tornaod hit our area, and dropped 1/3 of a different tree on our porch roof and patio. Robinson's to the rescue again-- they got the worst of the tree off of the porch, so we could patch the hole where the porch was ripped away, and then raced to the rescue of other homeowners in the area. They came back frequently during the next week to finish the job, fitting us in between real emergencies. It's to the point where I feel as if the guys were my kids!
