Unfortunately my second experience with this contractor was quite the opposite of the first. He painted the laundry room and bedroom just fine but the problem started when the interior doors did not arrive on time. The doors that were delivered to our home were the wrong style (except for 1) and we had to return them which caused a scheduling conflict with another job he had lined up. Rob Rekuta promised (verbal contract) he would finish his work once the proper order arrived and after his next  scheduled project. Fair enough. He wanted to be paid for a job half done, except he did not paint, caulk or install the door fixture on the only door that had arrived even though the materials were available. Going against my better judgment I paid him half of what I owed him and another half was to be paid upon completion of the remaining 3 doors. When the order finally arrived in January and I texted him to finish the job he accused me of trying to get another bid from another contractor because I accidentally texted him instead of a potential babysitter (who I wanted my husband to meet before we hired her) and apparently that was enough for him to breach his contract. I texted him several times and left a message at his business with no response. My husband finally stepped in and contacted him.  He accused me (through my husband), of causing this mess and kept saying 'Not on me.'  My husband said to avoid anyone who uses a phrase like that because they are more interested in the blame game than actually getting work done.  Something was very off in the texts and when my husband showed me, I agreed that it was time to stop trying to work with Rob Rekuta.  It could have gone well, but he seems to have overreacted to a babysitter miscommunication.  Is there no room for a working mom with her first baby in her first year?

I was in a bit of a rush to get crown molding put into a baby's room as I had just painted the walls for the upcoming delivery of the crib. I called him on Tues evening, he came by Wednesday to do an estimate (this was our 2nd estimate, first guy wanted to charge an arm and a leg) and Robert had the estimate emailed to us the next day. He amazingly started the job the day after that as another job had fallen through for him. He covered the stairs and the hallway so he wouldn't track dust/paint unto the carpet and moved all the furniture himself. Out of curiosity we asked for an estimate on the guest bedroom for crown molding as well and the price was good so we had the baby room and the guest bedroom done. He said the materials came in under the estimated cost and was not charged the full amount of the estimate. He was prompt and showed up when he said he was going to, appeared hard-working and honest. This was a hassle-free experience and I would definitely use him again.

Robert went throughout my home...section by section and he moved furniture around as needed never complaining to me to move them...I was quite surprised...he didn't charge me extra to move around the funiture even though he could have. I started him with a small minor job in my masterbath which would have taken only a week but since I liked his work so much...I kept adding on jobs as I wanted which made his stay at my home over 6 weeks...doing the downstairs hallway, foyer, office, dining room, living room, and great room....painting the entire home and putting up crown molding...he also changed all the light fixtures. I have a fairly a big home 3600 square feet to be exact...his big job was the high ceiling in the entry way...he really did a great job without any accidents and he took great care of my furniture.
