About us
In 1975, founder and CEO John Gagliano opened his first body shop in Warren, MI. In 1985, John opened his second shop in Sterling Heights, MI and changed the company name from “Gagliano’s Auto Craft” to "Collex Collision Experts." Over the next 37 years, Collex has evolved into 15 locations and has become Metro-Detroit's #1 collision repair facility. In April of 2007, Collex opened its first of three out of state locations in Southwest Florida. The company's growth is directly attributable to its high quality of workmanship, excellent customer service, and company philosophy combined with its code of conduct.. More than 70% of our business comes from referrals and repeat customers. Today Collex stands as the leader of Metro-Detroit’s highly competitive collision repair industry. Collex is excited to serve Southwest Florida with the same excellent service. As the company has grown, elements that comprise its core have evolved. Among these are . . . Collex People: All new employees begin their Collex careers at Collex University, an in-house training center located at the corporate headquarters in Clinton Twp. In addition to their individual specialized training, all new employees are taught the importance of customer satisfaction. Doing whatever it takes to please the customer is stressed from the first day! Collex Technology: When it comes to the technical aspect of the business, Collex is far ahead of the curve. A full-time, three-member IT Department is continually developing and refining systems and programs to keep Collex far ahead of the competition. The in-house-designed management system provides incredible data, which allows company managers to make sound decisions and efficiently operate the business. Collex Equipment: All Collex repair facilities contain state-of-the-art equipment. With laser alignment machines, downdraft paint and bake booths, computerized estimating systems and much more, Collex remains always on the cutting edge. Collex Intangibles: Collex is more than a collision repair business, it’s a company with a heart. We are prominent participants in civic and local functions in every community we service. We support many charitable organizations. We also have special fundraising programs for schools and foundations. The motto “Doing nice things for people and the cars they drive,” is more than the company slogan, it’s the company philosophy.
