In 1975, founder and CEO John Gagliano opened his first body shop in Warren, MI. In 1985, John opened his second shop in Sterling Heights, MI and changed the company name from “Gagliano’s Auto Craft” to "Collex Collision Experts." Over the next 37 years, Collex has evolved into 15 locations and has become Metro-Detroit's #1 collision repair facility. In April of 2007, Collex opened its first of three out of state locations in Southwest Florida. The company's growth is directly attributable to its high quality of workmanship, excellent customer service, and company philosophy combined with its code of conduct.. Collex People: All new employees begin their Collex careers at Collex University, an in-house training center located at the corporate headquarters in Clinton Twp. A full-time, three-member IT Department is continually developing and refining systems and programs to keep Collex far ahead of the competition. Collex Equipment: All Collex repair facilities contain state-of-the-art equipment. With laser alignment machines, downdraft paint and bake booths, computerized estimating systems and much more, Collex remains always on the cutting edge.
