iCare Phone Repair

Unfortunately, about 0.1% of iPad screen repairs result in a backlight failure - and iCare REPAIR's owner was unavailable due to a family emergency.  Upon his return the following Monday, he confirmed the usual backlight chip replacement did not fix the problem and  the logic board needed to be replaced.  Dan arranged for my iPad to be exchanged for another unit refurbished at Apple.  It arrived this morning; Dan replaced the AT&T 3G chip and verified it ran.  It's run perfectly upon it's return, Fri March 15 2013.
I'm disappointed the repair took 9 days instead of the 2 hours originally planned, and you may wonder why I'm not seething about the additional 224 hour delay.  I verified online that some iPads experience the backlight problem iCare REPAIR experienced with mine - the backlight occasionally fails during minor repairs.  Every person at ICare REPAIR was honest about the status of my repair; nobody tried to sugarcoat the problem, give false expectations or avoid their responsibilities.  As a small businessperson running a mall kiosk, it's not unreasonable Dan didn't have coverage for unusual circumstances during his family emergency.  iCare REPAIR was able to fix my unit in a timely manner, and allowed me to make a backup on my laptop computer prior to shipping to Apple.  I paid only for the glass repair (40% of Apple's repair fee), and iCare REPAIR paid for all other costs.
Although my experience was unusual, I feel I was treated fairly by iCare REPAIR and may use them in the future, should my "butterfingers" prove to be a chronic condition.  :)  They performed the expected service as quickly as possible at a low price; I don't hesitate in recommending them.
