CJ Hardwood Floors

He was great to work with: bent over backwards to work around my schedule; responded to all communications; just all around a nice guy. And of course the floor looked great when he was done. I would recommend him to anybody.

The work is amazing. Chris is a massive *******. He seemed like he took joy in toying with is regarding his morning arrival time. I think he is a giant turd who does amazing work. Actually, he didn't do the work, his awesome assistant did. That man had no explanation for Chris's ******* behavior. Excellent work, ******* person.

The floors look fantastic, we went with a light brown color and the floors are beautiful now. My wife and I were concerned about the dust. We went way overkill on putting plastic over the other areas of the house but their sanding machines have built in vacs so the dust was very minimal and easily cleaned up afterwards. There was a little miscommunication on pulling out the appliances in the kitchen, but Chris was very responsive and came back to fix it a few days later. Price, responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism were all A's. I have noticed a few swirl marks in 1 or 2 areas, so that is the only reason i am rating the quality as a B.

They were great, fast, professional, clean, and easy to deal with. They were negotiable, the level of service was great, better than great pricing, and I thought they did a great job.

They were awesome. They did everything on time. They were very careful and they were neat and tidy. They did everything for the amount of money that they quoted.

We called 3 or 4 different places around Ann Arbor and Jackson and they were all super expensive and very slow to call us back, not to mention quite short with me when I asked silly questions about floor refinishing. However, Chris was very punctual at the (free) estimate and very helpful and answered all the questions I had without any attitude. His employee was also very polite and professional during the entire project. He even helped empty the room he was sanding because I had not gotten a chance to clean it the previous day. He sanded the floor down to a smooth finish and then showed us samples of different color finishes on the floor. He waited patiently while we hemmed and hawed over the shades and different lighting possibilities. The refinishing process exceeded my expectations and the floor looks like new! We are remodeling another room in the next month or so, as money allows, and will be calling CJ to do the floors in that room too. I am very satisfied.

An excellent job was done - the floor actually looks better than original. We like the finish and are very happy with the workmanship. We would definetly reuse them in the future and recommend them to anyone considering refinishing. I would advise anyone considering refinishing to cover all furniture. Although it is true that very little dust is generated, we found a fine layer on all the tarps we used and were glad to have avoided having to clean/dust off everything.

We were referred to CJ Hardwood Floors by a satisfied customer. When I initially called Chris to get an estimate, along with another company, he called back almost immediately. It was days before I even heard back from the other business. He came to the house, told me exactly what the job entailed and quoted a reasonable price. At that time, we finished our upstairs hallway and one bedroom that was previously carpeted.
Chris was equally responsive with this most recent work; in fact he had given me the estimate for downstairs when we did our upstairs and honored the quote even though some time had passed. He did a fabulous job on a section of floor that had never been replaced after a partial wall was removed. You would never know the repair wasn't the original floor.
This business is very well run; he was punctual and professional and efficient and most importantly, we love how our floors look! We will definitely be having this company back to finish our upstairs later this year. As the owner of the company, no one works harder than Chris and he demands excellence from all who work for him.

Both rooms were sanded and finished in three days. Floors were sound before the work began, just looked awful: including a 8and quot; blot of ancient, black spilled india ink, paint, water-spotting, etc.

After refinishing, one of the rooms looked new - gorgeous. The other room looked 10 times better, but shadowing was left from the India ink spill and it had been spread to a much larger area in a diagonal pattern to other areas of the floor by the orbital sander used in the refinishing process...overall a marked improvement, but not perfect. However, I was happy to have a reasonable, cost-effective result.

We'd 100% hire Chris again.

Chris and his installer were professional and reliable.
The floor was installed in a vacation home so for most of the job we communicated by remote. Chris kept me up to date on the progress of the job, calling or texting every few days to send progress pictures and keep me in the loop.
The floors turned out beautiful. They did an excellent job at a fair price.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for hardwood flooring in the Ann Arbor area.

An overall good job was done on the floors. We were very happy with the end result. The only issue was the workers left the waste from the refinishing job in our driveway, very close to our new house. The waste caught on fire, we were not moved in at this point, the neighbors noticed the fire and called the fire department. The fire was large enough that if the fire department didn't come our house would have burnt down.I understand that fire is a possibility when dealing with these materials but we were not happy with the way the problem was handled. They cleaned up the mess from the fire and apologized. We felt to show that they were taking the issue seriously they should have done the following:
1. changed their policy on leaving waste in the clients driveway
2. Offered us a small discount

Chris takes calls and return calls in a timely fashion. He will give you a time and date and he is very punctual. Chris sands them one day, and puts the finishing coat on the following two days. He will you a choice of colors before he stains. He is also very informative about wood floors and give you a lot of information about taking care of them.

They were very prompt in inspecting the property and giving me a quote. They showed up when they said they would and did the job within the said time. They had a decent price and they did an excellent job overall.
