I have been going to Sovels for over 25 years!! They are always friendly and extremely honest. Their prices are fair and the vehicles are always fixed right the first time. Best of all you can trust them not to do any work that is not needed.

My 2004 Toyota Corolla got very loud all of a sudden and when I checked the muffler, it was barely hanging on. I decided to go to Sovel's because it was very close to where my husband works and he could take it there in the morning and be able to walk to work. I had not heard anything about this auto place and just found out about its location by searching on the internet. My husband dropped off the car in the morning and was called a few hours later. He came in and they gave him the scoop that it was part of the muffler pipe that was rotted out. They said they could order the whole muffler part from Toyota and install it. But the part itself is quite costly so they recommended we go to a muffler shop and see if they can fabricate the rusted pipe part without replacing the whole muffler. Wow - that information saved us hundreds of dollars! Sovel's did not charge us for the service check and we were able to get into another shop and fix the pipe as he suggested - for only $140. This shop is small and family-owned type place and I was very happy to find it. This experience made me think they are very honest and helpful. I will go back for minor car work, I will need brakes soon and I plan to go back here.

Unfortunately, Sovels cleared out all of the diagnostic codes from the engine's computer. They also failed to write down the specific diagnostic codes they observed on their equipment. So when we took our vehicle to another auto repair shop, they could not reproduce the problem, due to its intermittent nature. Sovels never gave us a satisfactory explanation as to how the disgnostic codes got cleared out. Another auto shop told us that simply disconnecting the diagnostic equipment does not clear out the codes - someone has to intentionally clear out the diagnostic codes while the machine is hooked up.
As a result, we had to drive the vehicle several more days in order to get the intermittent error codes to re-appear before we could take them into yet another shop to get the problem fixed. This added 1-2 weeks delay in getting the engine problem resolved.
Sovels did not charge us for hooking up their equipment, however, I was very displeased that they seemed to have cleared out my diagnostic codes. I can't prove they cleared out the codes, but there really is no other logical explanation.

Have been taking my cars to Sovel's for 30+ years. Work done professionally, prices are fair and they never sell you anything you don't need. Just the opposite -- I've come in thinking I needed work done and they told me it wasn't necessary. So glad this high-quality repair shop is in my neighborhood -- I can drop my car off and walk home.

I towed the car over later in the day on Saturday and the technician at Sovel's called me Monday morning before 8 o'clock for clarification on the noise as he had already performed an initial inspection and test driven the vehicle and could not replicate the noise. Tech called back an hour or so later with his findings. In the end the noise was coming from brake bushing knocked loose from hopping the curb and the repair cost me about $55 including the cost of replacing a lug nut that I had broken off. Folks at Sovel's were prompt, professional, and honest. Will definitively go back.

They provide honest and professional service. They don't suggest to do work on things that actually don't need repair/service, which is not very common for auto repair shops. Although the cost can go lower if I go to other towns, it is acceptable considering its closeness to my house.
I use them regularly for oil change and tire rotation. I wish they charge a little less for tire rotation (~$15) with oil change (~$35) because some places do it for free with oil change...

They are so honest and much less expensive than taking your car to the dealer. They have been family owned since 1951. They were wonderful.

We have frequently used Sovel's auto service in the past. In this case, they were doing brakes. Almost without exception they clearly outline the problem they uncovered with whatever I have brought in and gave me as much information as possible about the problem. They are never pushy and when the problem is out of their scope they always have good references. They are even very fair about small jobs.

This particular case was pretty simple and I knew before we brought it in what the issue was. They confirmed it (I only mentioned it was a brake issue) and finished the job quickly.

They are very reasonable on prices and explain everything completely.

They are very quick with the work they do, and I think that the prices are fair.
