SALON HEAD WEST

My stylist is Rosie. She has been my hair stylist for about 4 years. She does a great job, it is just very pricey. The price is extremely expensive.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Salon Head West! I always receive a fabulous haircut that complements my features and is realistic with my hair texture and volume. Their color technique is not your standard, straight-out-of-cosmetology-school, technique. EVERY hair on your head is addressed! (or so it seems!). They use more expensive products, thus their prices are a bit higher. But I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with fading and I seem to be able to go longer between colors. I drive about an hour to go to this salon. With gas prices sky rocketing I decided to find a salon closer to home. 2 other salons put about 10 foils in and charged me for a full high light. So what about the rest of my hair? What about the new growth stripe? What about the fading? I was disappointed with my decision to find another salon. It seems that with the Michigan economy being down, salon owners/operators are trying to get by with cheaper products. Well, in my opinion, it shows! It didn't take long and I am back to driving an hour for a cut and color. Although I will not say that I would "gladly pay any price" or that I would "gladly drive any distance" for a good cut and color, I will continue to visit Salon Head West. (For the record, I was reluctant to grade an "A" on price, but when I considered the value for the price, I changed from a "B" to an "A."). In summary, Salon Head West uses above average products, uses cutting edge techniques and they are talented at their craft! I recommend this salon.

I have been going to Salon Head West for a number of years. I get all my haircuts there and occasionally color services as well. Liz is my stylist, and she is excellent. This past summer I brought my mom (who lives out of town) with me, and although she got a stylist by luck of the draw, she was very happy with her cut and style. I have noticed that there is very low turnover, and I know that the stylists go to seminars and training to keep up with trends and developments in the field. Jeff West is a hands-on owner and very friendly to the clients.
