GREG'S PROFESSIONAL PAINTING

We used Greg's Professional Painting to have the two story foyer painted in our home. | |PROS: |-Price was very reasonable and he was flexible and let us use our own paint. |-He was prompt for our appointment and got us in quickly, just a few days after he came for the estimate. |-In the end, our foyer looks great! (though we did have to call them and have them come back to fix items as mentioned below.) | |CONS: |-After they left, we noticed three issues. 1) They missed a spot on the wall up near the ceiling. 2) There were also a couple of streaks of runny/drippy paint. When my husband brought it to their attention as they were leaving, the painter said it wasn't drippy paint, just the way it was drying, and smoothed his finger over it to "fix it" , which in the end, only made it more obvious. 3)They also did not smooth out spackle on a corner very well (it was a spot where two walls came together and needed a spackle/mud job. | |We called them back and they sent a guy out right away, which we appreciated. He noticed the missing spot and re-rolled it, and also re-rolled over the streaky area. He attempted to fix the spackle job but it still had a pretty decent notch in it. He called Greg to ask if he could come back in a couple of days to properly re-mud it, and Greg then asked to speak to my husband. He gave my husband a hassle, saying "it wasn't going to be perfect" We weren't expecting perfect, but we were expecting reasonably presentable. They did a great job with the rest of the spackle, this was clearly just a lack of attention to detail. He agreed to have the painter come back out in a couple of days to fix it, but my husband ended up fixing it himself this evening with a small amount of spackle and some sandpaper, in about 20 minutes. | |A few additional cons: |-They scuffed our stair railing with their ladder and as a result, some of the paint on the railing came off. They also got some paint "spray" from the roller on another part of our handrail, and on a door. (as a result, we had to touch up the railing ourselves, and one area with the scuff is still not perfect) -They got paint on our chandelier in two separate places |-They did not sweep up after they were done, so the room was fairly messy when they were done. While not a huge deal, it was not very professional. - Greg asked us to make the check out to him personally (rather than the company name), which was unprofessional. | |All in all, I would probably use them in the future because the price was reasonable and he was willing to work with us, and ultimately did fix our issues. However, be sure to do a THOROUGH quality check before they leave to ensure any issues are taken care of. |

Very happy with the professionalism and quality of the work. I have used Greg once before to paint the exterior of our previous house. He is very laid back and puts you at ease. Took a little longer to kick off the job than I would have liked, but I was not in a big hurry. My husband loves to criticize painting flaws, and he could not find any. Enough said.
