General Painting and Repairs

I interviewed several contractors but Valentino was the best. Personable yet professional. We discussed the project agreed upon the terms and proceeded. The project was started and completed on schedule. The work was great better than expected. Highly recommended definitely will use on future projects.

Valentino provided an extremely professional and quality service for our home. He seemed to know exactly what we were looking for when we discussed colors. He has a keen eye especially for colors. He even pointed out a few areas of needed repair as he was completing the painting job. We like his work so much that we will have him quote our interior painting this fall. We had our house painted in October 2020 and initially thought Valentino did a nice job. We noticed a spot after winter that was peeling. Valentino said if there were any issues to contact him. I texted and called him and he finally called me late May and said he?d be out the next week to repair it. He never showed and further efforts to contact him have been completely ignored.

It was a pleasure to work with General Painting and Valentino. He answered our questions and requests, but most of all they started the job on time and did not leave to do another job until this project was complete. Bravo!

We've hired a lot of painters over the years but have never used a painter we recommend more highly. Valentino and his team exceeded our expectations in all areas. The price was very fair and the quality was exceptional. He did extra things that we expected to be charged for, but weren't. He showed up when expected, was kind and very accommodating. He is also knowledgeable. We asked for a particular type of stain on our dock and he said he'd do what we wanted but advised against it. When we researched it we realized he was right. His knowledge and expertise saved us future headaches!

We had the exterior of our house painted. Valentino and his crew were very accommodating to any special requests. We feel like we got a quality job at a fair price with no stress. Everything went as planned and the last thing Valentino said when he left was not to hesitate to call if we had any questions or issues. What more can you ask for?

Valentino informed us of the correct paint to use to prevent issues we previously had experienced. Also couple of wood repair issues were easily repaired. His price was very competitive and yet we felt we had hired the best team for a quality job. We would definitely refer others to use this company. Being a residential builder he seems to have many areas of expertise.

I needed the job done right away because we wanted to put our house up for sale . They were on the job the next day . Valentino was able to repair a bay window that had extensive damage we hadn't even noticed . The whole job was done in 3 days and he even replaced a broken dryer vent for us . Highest ratings for this company !

Valentino did an excellent job refurbishing our windows and fixing and painting dry wall next to the windows. Our aging windows now have many years of new functional life due to his excellent efforts and the visual look of the window areas are like new. He was prompt, easy to work with and did outstanding work. Valentino will be my first call for all future projects.

Valentino stands by what he says he will do.He was on time. He did not stop until you are satisfied. Having said this, ALL of his contracted work was outstanding and he did extra things around the property at no charge (railings on deck stairs, installation of exterior lights, installation of doorbell). Valentino was a pleasure to work with and literally has OVER 20 YEARS experience. We will be using him again and cannot recommend him high enough for any job, small or large!

I would certainly hire Valentino again. He was thorough, conscientious, and entirely respectful of our building and site. His quote was much more attractive than that of two other competitors...and I can't imagine them doing a better job.

We spoke with a number of local painting companies that were highly rated to have the wood trim repainted on our brick house. I'm certain that all would have done a great job. What set General Painting and Repairs apart is the fact that Valentino is a licensed general contractor and handled the quote himself, carefully going over details of additional repairs that would be required and those that would not. We had a considerable amount of wood rot in our trim and all of the other estimates simply stated a quote for paint and any other repairs would have to be added on at the time in materials and an additional per-hour charge. General's quote included ALL work and included the highest quality paint that all of the other companies recommended (many with a surcharge for using "premium" paint). For the price that most companies charged for painting alone with no extras, General included all exterior doors, did gutters and downspouts, and even powerwashed all of the vinyl siding on the upper level. When Valentino provided the quote he said that when his crew was done it would look like a new house. Looking at the finished product, he was right.

In addition to a quality exterior stain and paint project, Valentino and his crew also completed exterior wood repairs. Replaced rotted wood, an overhang on the rear of the house and extensive woodpecker damage. General's cost was reasonable and we will hire them for future projects. I definitely recommend General Painting.

Did not do very good prep work prior to painting. Did not scrape away old flaky paint and caulk. Painted over poor surface. I had to go through and visually check and spent a lot of time pointing out all the bad areas. They took care of most concerns. You need to watch them closely.
