My only real complaint was the lack of follow through. They did not keep me informed. I would highly recommend the carpenter I had, Bruce and the plumber, Greg.

We had a wonderful experience. The people that came into our home were extremely respectful, good craftsman, everyone was responsive if we had a question or concern that we occasional had. They started in Jan and finished in April. The owner is available, it is a small company. We worked with a designer and he was also available if we had questions. They were competent people and everyone that they sub contracted with we would have hired if we had done it separately. We had such a good feeling about them before we ever talked to them. The price is reasonable.

Description of Work: Jay Towar and his staff did a remarkable job. Kitchen is BEAUTIFUL. We constantly get compliments when people see it. On many occasions people who have seen the kitchen a number of times still remark "this is such a beautiful kitchen." Tony designed a one of a kind kitchen. The built in hutch with contrasting color is a stand out. We had a couple issues along the way. That's to be expected. When the legs for the island (it's very large) looked different than in the drawing, they simply went back and got it right. We had a serious issue with the granite company. They measured wrong and brought in a gigantic piece of granite that just didn't work. They insisted that I had agreed to the size. Of course the size they told me was when I was in their showroom. No way did I know that they completely got it wrong. They were to bring in a template to set on the island before they cut. They never did. Jay told me that it wasn't my problem. That it had to be re cut and that someone was going to pay for it. But for sure it wasn't me. The second time was the charm. I never heard a word from the granite company about payment. They also did a bathroom for a friend of mine. He is the biggest perfectionist I have ever met. I hesitate to give him any recommendations, because if it's not perfect, i hear about it for years. I reluctantly gave him Epiphany's name. He raved about the work. What more can I say? If this guy raves about something, then it is PERFECT.

Jay and Tony came out and discussed our project with us. Tony helped us pick the tile and suggested other improvements to update our kitchen. The people who installed the countertops were very professional and did a beautiful job. Mike did a great job matching the shoe molding with our cabinets and removed the black base board and replaced it with a stained board that matches the cabinets perfectly. They did a great job installing the tile which had many cuts because of the diagonal pattern we requested. When the grouting was finished, it had a powdery look to it. Mike came out several times, trying different things, until a solution was found. We are very happy with this company and our beautiful kitchen!
Description of Work: Remove kitchen counters and tile. Installed Cambria countertops, subflooring and porcelain tile, brick backsplash, new sink and faucet, new wood shoe molding, new thresholds.

The project went very well, was within the cost and time we had agreed upon, and I am very happy with the result. Their quality is second to none. Tony did a great job with the plans and all general contracting. He listened to what we wanted and gave us a plan that fit our needs and wants. I had two other companies give me plans and I felt the other two did not listen as well to what I wanted and tried to push their own ideas. Tony gave us great suggestions from his experience but did not try to impose his own preferences. The carpenter, Bruce, installed all cabinets and trim and his work was perfect. Bruce holds himself to a very high standard. The electricians, plumber, and tile contractors also did high quality work. In addition to the labor, the cabinets they installed are works of art. Epiphany carries a few brands of cabinets which all seem very good, but the ones we ordered we felt were the best of what they carry. The brand is Wooden Hammer and we bought their Signature Line. We visited the factory near Traverse City and saw the production process and learned why they are of such high quality. The timing went as I expected overall. It took about 2 months from demolition until the work was finished, and I was able to partially use my kitchen about 2 weeks earlier. This timing even included about 3-4 weeks to build the marble countertops. I wanted a specific look for the 2.5and quot; marble countertops that required mitered edges, and it took the stone guy a while to find the right adhesive to use on the marble. This was the only real surprise for me that the stone guy would not already know what adhesive to use for this application. The other thing that seemed to take a while before the demolition started was the engineering drawings that the cabinet-maker creates. These drawings took longer than expected. Then they scheduled the cabinets to be built. Building the cabinets took longer than I had hoped but probably within what is normal. This was not a big issue since it all took place before the old kitchen was removed. Epiphany removed my old cabinets and arranged for Habitat for Humanity to pick them up. Removing cabinets without damage so they can be reused is more difficult but they were glad to do this. Responsiveness was generally very good relative to my high expectations and if you compare their responsiveness to most contractors it was amazing. If anything was not perfect (which was rare), I told them what I did not like and they fixed it at no extra cost. Yes, I would sometimes like faster return calls or replies to email, but I have no major complaints. The people at Epiphany were very professional in all regards. Costs were exactly as promised and any changes were clearly agreed upon up-front. There was no attempt to add cost or sell additional services. The designer and all workers were very polite and always addressed us and Mr. and Mrs. They only bring in contactors (electricians, plumbers, etc.) like themselves who are equally professional. If there were options for how to install something for different appearances, they always discussed this with me in advance. It was a pleasure working with Jay the owner, Tony the designer, Bruce the carpenter, Eric from Wooden Hammer and everyone else they used for the job. They spent a lot of time in my home and it was always a good experience. They all seem to love their work and take great pride in their work and it shows. I would use Epiphany again and highly recommend them. In fact I have already hired them to remodel a powder room.
Description of Work: Epiphany did a complete kitchen remodel from start to finish. They first designed the kitchen for me for a fee which was applied to the cost of the kitchen. They developed drawings and visualizations for me and detailed designs for the cabinet company. Tony, the designer, acted as general contractor providing all services: demolition, installation, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. The things I did myself were to buy some products for which I could get a better price (sink, knobs) or which they do not typically provide (appliances, custom leaded glass for cabinet doors). We did not move any walls but we did remove everything else including the floor.

It's a lengthy story that I'm not prepared to spend the time on. Suffice it to say that the cabinetry that was installed is finer than cabinetry I have had installed in other areas of my house that cost double. Wish I had there number years ago. They provided cabinets for a friend of mine, who has a carpenter he always uses, said they were the finest he's seen.
Description of Work: Gutted out and re did entire kitchen.

This was a very good thing and it went really well. It did work out really good for us. The owners and the workers were all professional and really great. The contractors were all great too. I do feel that they could have been just a little bit more prompt, but they did great. I am pleased.
Description of Work: I had my kitchen remodeled by Epiphany. They pretty much did everything a remodeling job consisted of into here. They ripped out walls, painted, ran wires, did plumbing and installed things.
