I am so impressed by the work and interaction that we had with Vince and his team. I was given a reasonable quote for drainage work and the job was completed within weeks. Great communication and prompt replies. His team was professional and left our lawn more leveled than before they started. I appreciate going the extra mile to seed over the areas worked. We were very happy with Blackstone from initial consultation through completion of the job.  Vince provided several useful suggestions at our consultation and quoted a fair price for the project.  He and his crew performed the work one week from our acceptance of the quote.  The final work is great.  We are very happy.  We found Blackstone to be an excellent choice.

Blackstone power raked the dead grass (I had killed it all) and removed everything. They then spread 15 yards of dirt and compost over the area and put down grass seed. Its now month later and the lawn looks terrific.

Vince responded to my phone call within a day and met with us to go over the project. His proposal was detailed and the price was considerably less than other estimates. The crew arrived on time and worked very quickly. Everything looks good and we were very happy.

Everything was wonderful! We have used Blackstone at our old home for years and now here. He has also done work for us at a second property. Vince is always quick to reply to inquiries. His prices are fair and he and his crews work very hard. We also used him for lawn service and snow removal. It is rare to find someone who you can rely on for these services but he never let us down.

I originally hired him because my daughter had moved into town and she needed some work done. He and his crew went over there and did that first and they did a beautiful job. They were very reasonable, on time, and professional. They were everything anyone could hope for.

I made arrangements in early September to have the lawn work done. They were unable to perform the service until late October. On the morning the crew arrived there was a heavy frost on the lawn. Despite my trepidation, they proceeded to walk on the frozen grass and wheel equipment across it. This resulted in severe damage to existing areas of previously healthy turf.
The replacement sod used was healthy and green, but now these repaired patches are surrounded by brown, trodden lawn that was injured by the foot and equipment traffic. I called the company and expressed my disappointment in the work performed.
I had agreed to pay them $495.00 for the service, but after seeing how much damage they caused to my lawn I decided to submit only $200.00, stating that if the lawn recuperated by the following spring, I'd be happy to pay the balance.
When I complained to the company's supervisor about the damage, he attempted to convince me that the damaged areas of grass had been ushered into an early dormancy when it was flattened and browned by the heavy foot and equipment traffic.
I was not convinced.
It is now late March, 2014, and the melting snow has revealed last year's damage. I will bide my time and see if these brown and seemingly dead areas will revitalize with the coming growing season. If they do, I'll pay the balance owed. If they do not, I will withhold any further payment until Blackstone returns and addresses the problem. If they will not fix their mistakes, I will not pay.
When the job was performed I expressed my concern about work crews walking on a frozen lawn, knowing that such action could permanently harm the healthy grass. The supervisor claimed that no harm would be done. I was hesitant to allow the work to continue, but deferred to his 'professional' assessment. That was a mistake.
To be fair, Blackstone may indeed return this spring and rectify the situation. This remains to be seen.

They return phone calls very promptly and show up on time, when they say their going to. They complete the job and do a good job.

We are extremely happy with them. The owner was so pleasant, very nice.
