Shepherd Gutters & Remodeling

It was a basic repair. We live in Michigan and I had ice build up in the gutter and it pulled away from the house, so I was slow getting it repaired. He came out and repaired the soffit and put the gutter back, they put a new gutter in. They put in new wood that needed repaired. It was a good repair. It was affordable and the guy that came out, Shepherd, was very nice. He gave me a fair estimate. A couple of weeks later his crew came out, a couple of guys, and they had it finished in an hour and a half. It was great. It was a good experience.

Shepherd did a great job. Showed up on time and began right to work. Had a mobile gutter "factory" at the back of their truck. Used quality seemless gutters. They did not harm my new sodded grass and new plants. They were careful where they put their ladders. Took about three hours. Very professional and nice young men. Cleaned up the work site and checked that I was satisfied. The final bill was exactly what the estimate was. No additional charges.

I was happy to have the job done and since I had been referred by my cousin who used this same contractor, I was totally confident the job would be done right and it seems it was.

In a nutshell, it was excellent. Gary Jr. and his assistant removed the old gutter system and replaced it with new seamless aluminum. Due to a new roof I had installed last Fall, a stream of water was running off the rather flat sun-room roof in front of the patio doors and splashing up on them. Not an area a gutter could be installed, so he fabricated a piece of aluminum that would divert the water on the roof from running in that direction. Did not charge me for that added engineering/fabrication. Aluminum gutters have always made me nervous because I never viewed them as being very rigid. I will say the new ones are extremely rigid. Gary Jr. mentioned you can lean a ladder up against them...... don't recommend it, but you can. Seamless is the only way to go. The lines are crisp, and you almost don't even notice they are there. The other benefit I learned after the installation, is that the seamless aluminum gutters are installed underneath the roof drip-edge. No more water dripping between the roof and the gutter. Had I left the plastic ones up, quite certain in a year or two the facia would have started to rot in some areas. They are a pleasure to work with. Price seemed reasonable, and the installation looks flawless. Very pleased and would highly recommend.

It went GREAT ! Very easy to work with. Called them for a quote and Gary got right back with me. When they did the install I did not have to be home and they did a great job cleaning up.

The installers arrived this morning around 9am and went right to work. They worked throughout the day (with a lunch break) and had finished the job in the afternoon. I inspected their work and found it to very well done. It dressed up the look of our house, and without putting a level on the gutter - I'd guess the line was perfectly level throughout. We are completely satisfied with their work and would recommend them to anyone.

They did a good job. The price was fair.

Gary was quick to return my call and came out to give an estimate the next day. When I called to accept his bid, it was Friday and he called back on Monday morning. Work started a week and a half later. His crew was led by his son Gary and they got the job done in two days. The gutters look great. If it wasn't for the downspouts, you would not know we had gutters. We heard of Gary via word of mouth. He is the guy to use in West Michigan.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE'VE GONE THROUGH THIS COMPANY AND WE'VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WORK THEY'VE DONE. I RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD WORKERS.
