Chart House Energy LLC

I contacted many solar providers in the late summer and fall. It was hard to get a good list, and I had to search several different sources. I wasn't sure if Rob and Chart House would be interested in my job, as it appeared from their website that they did mostly larger installations, of systems with hundreds of panels.
But Rob answered all my email questions promptly and thoroughly, and said they'd be happy to bid on it. Their bid was comparable to what I saw from a couple of other providers, but I was impressed with Rob's knowledge and experience, and he had good advice about how to finance the project, and these factors persuaded us to choose them.
They made recommendations on what equipment to buy, which I needed, knowing very little but what I had learned on my own. The gear Rob recommended seemed well-chosen, and to be well suited to getting the most output from the system. It all comes from US manufacturers too, which I wanted to support if I could.
Rob was indispensable in helping us apply for a state rebate quickly, which is necessary as the rebate program is not well funded, and the rebate grants run out fast. He has also been great with the follow-up paperwork the state requires, and with helping us connect with Comed about net metering.
I was home when they did most of the installation work. The racking and other gear is very sturdy and I have no worries about how it will bear up in high winds. The system also includes a web-based monitoring dashboard, which allows us to track the system's output over time, and to see how each individual panel is performing. The electrical work is all very workmanlike, secure and well labeled. The Chart House staff are all very friendly, and even let me bring my kids up in the lift to see the last panels go in.
There have been minor delays with some of the administrative aspects of it, as I'm sure are inevitable when dealing with the state and the power company. But overall, Chart House was great to work with, and I'd recommend them if you're looking to invest in solar.
