Terrible terrible terrible. We contacted Mr. Rooter mid Michigan. Mount Pleasant location. They sent us an unlicensed plumber without telling us. They also advertise that they are BBB accredited and have an A+ rating. They are not BBB accredited and they have an F rating. The plumber with the license that was sent to our home, walked off the job when we asked him to uninstall 3 toilets that were the wrong brand we asked for Toto or Kohler toilets and he installed American Standard. He flipped out, swore at us and walked off the job. We had a water softener replaced as well. The one we replaced was in working condition and he took it with him when we were gonna use it somewhere else. It was never returned, even though we asked for it. They tried to sneak on an extra $500 for an extra hose bit. The most dishonest company I have ever seen from lying about plumbers having plumbing license, lying about Better Business Bureau accreditation, and rating. Lying on invoicing total bill. 14,000

We had some work done by another contractor that required moving our washer and dryer away from the wall. The other contractors damaged the shut off valves and hose connections, so there were multiple leaks happening, which we discovered about 12 hours after the other contractor completed work. Mr. Rooter was available to come on a Saturday with practically no notice - Scott B. arrived only 3 or 4 hours after we called on Saturday morning. We were very pleased to have the service completed right away. Scott replaced the shut off valves and hoses for both hot and cold lines to our washing machine. He tested everything out to make sure that nothing was leaking after he was done and even though he had to leave to get the necessary parts to complete the work, he finished within a very reasonable amount of time. Everything works perfectly and he was friendly and easy to work with. Our only complaint is that the service was pretty expensive.

The gas line to our water heater was damaged by another contractor. Mr. Rooter fixed it by installing a gas ball valve and gas flex line to replace the old line. Scott was scheduled to arrive between 2 and 4pm, but due to a previous job taking longer than expected, did not arrive until after 5pm. He was quick to complete the necessary work and the work he did seems to be just fine. He was friendly and wore bootie covers on his shoes so he didn't track in any snow or mud from outside. Our only complaint is that the job was more expensive than we would have liked.

first visit they sold me a sludge remover for 65 dollars , charged 60 just to look at it ,said that would work , 2 weeks later complete backup in north bathroom toilet backing up in bathtub, so they came out again , i asked them to find the problem of why it was backing up and they said it needed snaked out , i asked them why their sludge remover didn't work and they told me the guy before didn't know what he was doing and should have snaked it out before and that  he was fired do to complaints , they said it would be  $395 three hundred ninety five dollars i said wow , anyway i thought it was high but figured it had to be done and they would have charged me another $60 to look at it if i didn't have the service done ,so i told them as long as this will fix the problem your here just get it done , after it was done it flushed 2 months later same thing again started slow drainage and then complete backup into the bathtub when toilet flushed , so i thought they would come out  being that i had them out twice for the same thing and give me some sort of warranty ?  they said it was over 30 days and I would be charged the $ 395 again , so i called around the highest price i got was $200 to do the same thing they did, so i called Mr rooter back asked to speak to the owner  to maybe get a resolution i sure wasn't going to pay them a total of over $800 just to snake a drain, I asked why there price was almost double than other companies ,she told me that yes they do charge a little more than other companies and same same thing it was over 30 so they would do nothing without me paying again so i said i will call another plumber and would never use them again and i would let all my friends know how they do business she said very snobby that's OK so  here i am paying another plumber to come out to fix it right .

They worked to clear the drain for several hours. They were unsuccessful, and explained to me that I must have a and quot;whole houseand quot; trap that was blocking their coil. At that point, I asked why RotoRooter had been able to clear the drain without any problems last year (at a cost of about $200). He explained that this team used a larger coil, etc. The bill was just over $300.
A team returned the next morning, with a supervisor who checked out the situation and tried to clear the drain, without success.
They determined that the line exited under the driveway, and recommended that I schedule a service call to dig up that section of the driveway and replace a section of the pipe. Although this job would be thousands of dollars, they seemed so professional and credible that I scheduled the work to be done the following week. The next day, the rains let up and the drain cleared. I called to cancel the job and they removed the charge from my credit card without any problem. Afterward, I spoke with a neighbor who had a similar experience with this business.
Before leaving on the second day, they gave me the results of a home plumbing inspection. As I had not asked for this, I was pleasantly surprised that nearly everything was rated as good. The one exception was the pressure release valve on my gas hot water heater. He told me, while pointing to the valve at the top of my water heater, that I needed to open and close the valve a couple of times each year in order to keep it from sticking.
I followed that advice, and opened the release valve twice using a bucket to catch the water. After closing the valve, I left town for a long weekend. Upon my return, I found water all around the hot water tank from a slow leak due to that valve. When I called my local plumber, they explained that the emergency relief valve should not be opened manually. It is designed to open once, and then does not reseal. The cost to replace the valve was minor ($75). But I was completely shocked that Mr. Rooter would recommend a maintenance practice that is clearly not standard and certain to result in further repairs. Perhaps they thought I would call them back again?

After several other calls that only gave me voicemail, Mr Rooter actually answered the phone, and immediatly tracked down a service expert, who said he could inspect the situation that day, returning from a distant service call. He showed up at the right time, but didn't have the unusual part required on his truck (recirculating pump). Called his office, and had someone bring one (meeting him half-way) from 50 miles away. Wanted to have project completed and functioning the same day, which was great due to my tight schedule.  Installation went fine, and he even gave me suggestions on other plumbing issues I could do.
