noise coming from rear of van, test drive and owner of shop confirmed it was pinion gears, but not checked on hoist
qouted price $600 for repair, added also transmission fluid flush and change, and price of gear box grease
once van taken apart, owner did not see any issue with the outer pinion bearings and called to have me come see, he said looked OK, and he would check inner bearings still, but if no issues would not charge me since his mistake to not check on hoist
later was determined inner bearings were grooved, cause of noise - replaced and put back together
delivered back on time as promised, price as quoted
noise issue was resolved, but on test drive owner noticed excessive tire noise too, and was concerned the belts in my tires were bad, so he took tires and wheels off a van he had in his lot in order for me to drive to tire shop and get mine replaced, he was concerned for safety and trusted I would return his wheels and tires once mine replaced, went extra mile to help customer
