I initially called them to get an estimate and they scheduled a time to come out and look at it. They rang the doorbell 90 minutes before the scheduled appointment; because I was working from home anyway (2020) I was able to accommodate this, but normally I would expect a courtesy call to ask if it was OK for them to show up early. After comparing options, I called back a few weeks later to go ahead with the work. They could not find my records, so they took my information and said they'd call me back. The next day they found my information under a misspelling of my last name (this is why every other company indexes you by phone number). We agreed on the work to be done and where I would normally expect to schedule a specific appointment, they ended the call without doing that. Several weeks later, without any warning, someone shows up to do the work. Again, no advance call, and no appointment. They complete the work, and we ask if we can pay by credit card. The contractor says he can't take one, but they can invoice us and we can pay by credit card that way. About a week went by and the invoice arrives with literally zero instructions for how to pay it. No return envelope (I would accept an unstamped one) and no lines to write a credit card number on. We called to ask if we could pay by credit card over the phone, and were told they do not take credit cards at all. If we had known that, we could have just given the contractor a check when he was here. All of that said, I have no issue with the *quality* of the work, or the value for cost paid, but the process left a great deal to be desired.

Great , done fast and did a great job

I e-mailed Mr. Milliken. He e-mailed back that he'd be out in a week to take a look. Actually came in slightly less time. Told me he'd get back to me in a week with estimates for (1) the work I wanted and (2) an entirely new fence. Two weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. E-mailed him saying I was eager to get those estimates. Nada. People in the Lansing MI area should hope that what happened to me doesn't happen to them. It proved very difficult to find someone to replace those 4 lousy fence posts.

Salesman Phil was a pleasure to work with; he was prompt with the paperwork & returning calls, and the installation was completed when promised. Despite discussing the gate swing with Phil, verifying that the drawings were changed, and informing the installation crew on the day of work; the gate was installed swinging the wrong way! However, the gate swing was corrected on the same day that I called to inform them! I have only a minor complaint; when the gate swing was change, it caused a noticeably larger gap between the gate and fence. Because everything else was done with such great detail, I would have expected that the gap would have been concealed by adding a 1/2 board, similar to how they finished off the end of the fence. The bottom line is that we are very pleased with the quality of work and would recommend them to friends and family

Spartan fence was both prompt and professional in quoting and installation. There were no hidden charges. We found one gate didn't swing properly- Mike sent his crew out same day and adjusted. Thanks to Phil (quote) and Mike (installation) and his crew. We would highly recommend this fence company.

Quote was provided via telephone based on my measurements; I had them come out and measure and look at location of gates. Written estimate was provided via email in a timely manner. They ordered supplies as soon as I sent in deposit. They were able to hold off on the job while I had some other work completed in the area where the fencing was to be installed. They kept in touch via email on the status of completion of that job so that they could schedule my job. Once scheduled, they arrived on the date and time that they stated. Work was done in a professional and efficient manner. I had a fenced yard within a week. They put a gate on backwards but they came out and fixed right away along with a post that we bent when we accidentally hit it with tractor mower. All in all, very pleased with my experience with Spartan Fence!

Fine. They promised to come by and provide an estimate as soon as possible. They did so within a few days. The estimate was professional. They politely answered all of my questions. They notified us of when they were coming to do the work so that we could be on hand. They did the job as specified. They were very pleasant to work with.
