The team had such a lack of regard and care for my home and personal belongings, that I am actually extremely concerned about the parts of the job that I cannot see behind the walls and in the attic. The team did not clean, move, cover anything as promised by the sales team and advertised on the website. Many of my kids toys, wagons, strollers, and some tools were ruined. Some of the toys were thrown out and I spent hours cleaning and scrubbing my garage. The application of the foam itself was also a disaster. The foam leaked through the recessed cans and into the bathroom fans, since they were not appropriately covered. There was full material on my carpet in the bedrooms. The fans had to be replaced. The company did ultimately repair the drywall in the garage, but cannot replace the hours of work I personally had to do in cleaning up their mess, and fixing the light cans, bathroom fans, cleaning the carpet.

I had Retrofoam insulate my 1870s vintage home back around 2014.and was thrilled with the energy savings and the feel in the house- let alone the street noise reduction. I didn't realize that having the floor joist done under my main floor in my Michigan basement that I was a) losing so much heat b) having so many critters able to get into the house, and c) still had a lot of street noise in the house. The guys were on time, the deal was clearly presented, the cleanup was 100% and the site boss was great at making sure the job was complete.

Retrofoam removed the fiberglass and blown-in insulation from our attic. They then sprayed their open cell foam on the underside of our roof. Both work crews were very professional and conscientious of the areas where they worked in our house. They did a great job with the coverage areas of the foam. The temperature difference in our attic now is amazing compared to before. It is comfortable to be in the attic now. We use it for storage so we are up there often.

Ken and crew #3 got here about 15 minutes before schedule and got right to work! Everything went smooth, they kept me up to date and showed me exactly what they were doing. Garry walked us through the process and got us a great price that beat the competitors we had quote us. He even included me in his inspection of the house and what was needed. Definitely recommend!

From start to finish it was a very good experience. Mike came out and gave me an estimate and explained how the process would go. The crews that came out to do the work they showed up on time and were Very professional. I’m very pleased with the quality of work and would definitely hire them for future projects.

It was a waste of $4,000. There has been no difference in my utility bill. I have drafts coming through my windows. They had to come out twice to do my basement joists because it wasn't done right the first time. After they left, the next day the corner siding came off my house and a corner of my porch was broken. It took them almost a month to come and fix it. As far as the leaks from my windows they sent someone back out who reeked of smoke. They did a blow test which was supposed to have been done before and after the installation which wasn't done. The guy said oh it's your windows. I told him the windows were not that old. He said Well windows only last about ten years. I looked up on the internet and windows last for 20 years. I told him the drafts were not like that before and I just kept getting excuses. I saved up for a very long time to have this done. I am on disability, and I could have used this for other repairs. I would not recommend them.

The crew was great, punctual, polite, cleaned up after project extremely well. This is the third project they have done for us, and they did two projects for our relatives in Saline/Ann Arbor area. They stand behind their work, and any problems you may have, they immediately respond.

I had Retrofoam out to insulate my walls. Energy bills have been greatly reduced. Noise level in home was a drastic improvement. Almost a year later I noticed some small cracks in the paint on the walls I had insulated. I called Stacey and described my problem. She asked for a few photos to confirm diagnosis. Stacey then sent a repair tech (Eric?) Tech came and confirmed issue. Tech then rescheduled and came back and fixed problem. Tech took his time and made sure everything was finished to my satisfaction before he left. Stacey was always a pleasure to interact with during the whole process. I would definitely recommend this company for their high level of customer satisfaction and integrity.

The estimator was great. No pressure to buy. The price was right and he helped me figure out some financing. 2 visits were required. One for crawl space and then the walls. Each crew arrived on the date set and on time. They were fast and efficient. I cannot give enough accolades or praise to each of these two crews. Each showed that they cared about the customer. I will be having them do my attic sometime in the future. I would highly recommend and would use them again!

Looked at Retrofoam as well as the concrete-foam product. Went with Retrofoam because the cost was only about 40% of the higher-end product. Sales representative was efficient and straightforward, with no high-pressure sales tactics or BS. They have an odd pricing structure with a lot of discounts that together added up to about 20% off their base cost in my case. On top of that, they managed the Consumer's Energy rebate and discounted that directly off the sales price, which is much easier than having to do the forms-and-wait-for-a-rebate-eventually thing. Work was scheduled for a Friday and the exterior crew showed up on time, gave good explanations and got immediately to work. The interior rim joist crew was a separate team that came part way through the day. Both teams worked quickly and professionally. During install, there were the minor issues typical of an old house. In one spot, an unnoticed crack between panelling and a door frame led to foam being sprayed out across a mud room. In another crawl space foam extruded in a clump through another crack and some older poorly-installed insulation. The team was good about cleanup in both cases, and I wasn't particularly upset. The whole point of adding insulation is to identify and fill that sort of crack, right? Explanations were clear throughout, and I was impressed with the cleanup. The basement rim joist crew left things spotless and well-sealed, the exterior crew did a great job of cleanup, with only a few bits of foam here and there on the ground that were unavoidable. I have old aluminum siding that they had to remove and reinstall, and that was done well, with just a couple of spots where fit & finish were affected in small ways. Again, about what one would expect from a good job with old siding. Given the reviews by a few others that they had areas which weren't adequately foamed, now that we've got snow on the ground I've gone around the house with an electronic thermometer gun to inspect for cold spots. I'm happy to report that I'm not able to find any. The house "feels" much warmer, and I'll try to post an update after this winter's utility bills are in.

"Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I am glad we were able to repair the broken drywall, but would like to review the brick area outside the walls that we insulated, and perform tuck pointing as needed. If you will allow us to review, please message us. Thank you."

I met sales rep at the Novi home show, booked a quote and the same sales guy came to my house.  Very personable and willing to educate me on the F&B of foam.  NOT pushy at all.  My application needs were very specific and retrofoam was very willing to work with me.  They even sent extra help to assist me moving and covering the items in my basement.  The install crew was very nice and cleaned up after the job.  They swept my entire basement just to make sure they left without a trace.   Its been a couple of weeks and the job turned out just like I wanted.
The company sent a followup packet with my Consumers rebate form,Warranty,Survey and referral forms.  I am in sales myself and I think these folks are top notch professionals all the way around!  Don't forget to ask about discounts, I received discounts for my wife being a teacher and my prior military service,

If you are told the foam will not hold water - don't believe it.

We discovered this problem, because we had to cut out a stud 3 weeks after the area had been foamed. We didn't know the plumber had put a water line in the same area.  The water leaked for less than 10 minutes before it was shut down. It was a 1/2'' water line, only under about 15 pounds of pressure.  The representative clearly told several members of our crew, and the Retrofoam literature clearly states that the foam will not retain water.  Instead, it acts like a sponge.  Photos of the wet foam were sent to Retrofoam and we asked for a major price adjustment.  Retrofoam would not even consider adjusting our price.  We had to "bird dog" the crew to

finish the project.  They were packed up and ready to leave, when we took a mirror to inspect the work, several areas were found to have no foam.  The crew did finish up the unsprayed areas.

We would not recommend this company.
Response from Retrofoam of Michigan Inc
"[Member Name Removed], thank you for your feedback. Icynene Classic open cell spray foam does wick water. However, under hydrostatic pressure (such as standing water or a pipe leak) water will penetrate the foam. Once in the foam, the water will begin to slowly pass through the foam via gravity. If the foam has been completely saturated by water, it does not need to be removed. It may take up to 2 weeks to totally dry out depending on amount of water contained within. The drywall will typically have to be removed, so that the area can be exposed to ventilation/air movement to speed up the process. Once the foam is completely dried out, the foam will maintain its normal cell structure and will not lose its insulating capabilities. We are sorry to hear that you pipes leaked in the wall, but are glad to hear that the foam is now dry and working as stated."
