"Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I am glad we were able to repair the broken drywall, but would like to review the brick area outside the walls that we insulated, and perform tuck pointing as needed. If you will allow us to review, please message us. Thank you."
The company sent a followup packet with my Consumers rebate form,Warranty,Survey and referral forms. I am in sales myself and I think these folks are top notch professionals all the way around! Don't forget to ask about discounts, I received discounts for my wife being a teacher and my prior military service,
We discovered this problem, because we had to cut out a stud 3 weeks after the area had been foamed. We didn't know the plumber had put a water line in the same area. The water leaked for less than 10 minutes before it was shut down. It was a 1/2'' water line, only under about 15 pounds of pressure. The representative clearly told several members of our crew, and the Retrofoam literature clearly states that the foam will not retain water. Instead, it acts like a sponge. Photos of the wet foam were sent to Retrofoam and we asked for a major price adjustment. Retrofoam would not even consider adjusting our price. We had to "bird dog" the crew to
finish the project. They were packed up and ready to leave, when we took a mirror to inspect the work, several areas were found to have no foam. The crew did finish up the unsprayed areas.
We would not recommend this company.
"[Member Name Removed], thank you for your feedback. Icynene Classic open cell spray foam does wick water. However, under hydrostatic pressure (such as standing water or a pipe leak) water will penetrate the foam. Once in the foam, the water will begin to slowly pass through the foam via gravity. If the foam has been completely saturated by water, it does not need to be removed. It may take up to 2 weeks to totally dry out depending on amount of water contained within. The drywall will typically have to be removed, so that the area can be exposed to ventilation/air movement to speed up the process. Once the foam is completely dried out, the foam will maintain its normal cell structure and will not lose its insulating capabilities. We are sorry to hear that you pipes leaked in the wall, but are glad to hear that the foam is now dry and working as stated."
