We wanted to update a 1970's family room that had paneling, beamed ceiling and full wall fireplace. The old walls and ceiling were removed and dry wall installed. We began looking for trim, but the size of the room was daunting, so we contacted Ron Hobson for help.
Ron helped us decide on the type of wood and the design of the trim. Then he milled the pieces in his shop. They were beautifully made and different in style and quality from anything we saw in a retail store. He installed all the trim and prepared it for finishing as we chose to do the painting ourselves.
He also designed, built, stained and installed a great new mantel of red oak. During the process, he had to resolve a number of tricky issues that we were not prepared for.
The finished room looks great, and everything is nicely detailed.
