As a way to increase profits, they wanted to look at all my plumbing through out the house and give me prices on fixing or replacing fixtures. I only allowed them to look at those in the basment and was given a price on replacing my water heater, etc.
I fired Mike and hired a plumber capable and honest. What we found was the connection between the new pipe and the city stub was loose, causing roots to grow into the line. Total replacement cost for replacing the sewer line a second time...$1895.00.
Farnsworth denied any responsibility, claiming the new plumber caused the damage. He also claims the stub is under the road; I have documentation and video proving the stub is 33 feet from the center of the road, right where his connection failed.
I sued Farnsworth in small claims court and was awarded $1895.00 plus $144.22 in court costs. Five months later, I have received 5 payments totalling $82.99. A payment plan was never discussed or aggreed upon.
I was a good customer of Mr. Rooter/Farnsworth for several years. He sent postcards with coupons stating he wanted to be my "plumber for life". He is either incompetent or a crook, as a master plumber should know where the city stub is located, and how to properly connect a sewer line.
"This was not our company. Sparta is not in our service area. Very sorry for this experience, however it was not us who did this work."
