The team at Boardwalk was great. They gave me a clear quote, including options for having them remove the carpet or what it would cost if I did it. When some surprises came up during the work they communicated with me quickly and again clearly explained the options. The finished product was BEAUTIFUL! The original floors in my 1920's home look better then I imagined they would. My only, minor, complaint was that the other parts of the house weren't sealed off well, so the upstairs (that wasn't refinished) had a thick layer of dust. I'm sure at some point I will need to have my floors refreshed again, Boardwalk will be my first call.

Outstanding knowledge and service. Christine (the owner) is very professional and extremely knowledgable. Her crew did a fantastic job. There was an air conditional problem (not their fault) that caused the last coat to dry poorly. They recoated the floors and they were perfect. I or my family have used Boardwalk three times over the last 5 years on different homes, on 3 different types of wood and all have been great jobs. Easy to work with.

Great job. They showed up on time and setup all protective coverings very fast. Sanded and re-stained the hardwood. They even pieced in some boards to provide better coverage. Also they had to match the stain to an adjacent room. They did an excellent job.

Christine (the owner) came right out to our home to give us a quote, got us on the schedule very promptly, and was part of the whole process. The crew was professional, courteous, and friendly. They did a wonderful job and had a real attention to detail. Boardwalk Floors is truly a standout company that takes pride in their work and it shows! It was a great experience. With this being a bigger type project / investment, I was very cautious going into this. I had concerns on how would I be able to select color and would that color be the best option. Boardwalk floors had multiple color samples to choose from, and eased my concerns by staining an area of the floor so I could see it against my wall. They provided insights that helped steer my decision. They were very professional all around - covering up nail, holes, responsive, and putting up plastic to contain dust. I am recommending them to friends that are looking to have their floors redone and am looking to do further work together.

First, they offered to start the job eearlier than originally quote which was positive. However, there were several problems. When the wood was delivered the company that delivered it would not bring it up stairs due to liability concerns. So, I called Christine and Boardwalk and she sent a couple of guys to move 36 wood bundles from the hallway on the first floor to an empty bedroom on the 2nd floor. Contracted with them to screw down the subfloor. THey delegated this task to one of the workers sons, who did not know what he was doing so the screws were not into the joists in many instances. So, I went and screwed some of them down my self and then asked them to insure they went over the floor and insured the screws were in the joists. Do not believe this ever happened. Then when they were laying the floor, many of the boards were very short. When I questioned the installers, they said this was not normal. So, I called Christine and asked her. She said some customers like the looks of many seams or joints in their floors. When asked to replace with longer boards, she complied, I helped one worker bring all the boards that had not been laid back down to the first floor for replacement. When they brought the new wood they put it in front our my daughters dressers. Called Christine on a Thursday, and she said it would be moved on Monday. Moved it myself so my kids could get to their clothes. after sanding and staining when they put the coating on the floor, it was too glossy, even though I had asked for a satin finish. Also, it wood putty was put on seams/joints, but not every joint so the joints were noticable after sanding and staining when polyurethane was applied. There was a lot of junk in the poly coat so it looked bad in my opinion. On the 4th poly coat they applied a matte finish which finally looked much better. It took way longer than anticipated and I felt I had to oversee them just to get a half way decent job at the nd of it all. It was a real struggle to get it right and it still is a B/B- and not an A quality job.

"I just wanted to respond to your review, We did go through the subfloor and screwed everything down, even with a new guy on the crew we still went behind him and made sure it was done and done right. Yes the wood came in shorts but was changed out right away. Unfortunately we do not have control over the sizes when it comes in. But I did have it all changed out and we did have to wait for it to acclimate to the home to make sure it was done correct. I was up front with that and you stated you were ok with it. Also, the suppliers do not do 2nd floors but we did take it up. We also applied filler through out the floor before sanding as well as applied putty anywhere the filler did not take. For the 3rd coat that was applied there was stuff in the finish, we cleaned extremely well before we applied it, but with an uncontrolled environment it can happen. But we did come out and do another coat for you when you went out of town, which was 2 days later. I am sorry you were not happy with the service, but we did everything we could to get your job done as quick as we could, I moved jobs around so you did not have to wait on getting your job done."

Christine was very helpful in providing design recommendation to pick the perfect color. James and Andrew did a terrific job sanding and refinishing. They both were great to talk to through out the entire week long process. The finish trim work exceeded my expeditions! The only thing that I wish was done at the beginning and I take some responsibility for not bringing it up to the guys sooner is I wish we would have bagged all of the cabinets. While the sanding dust control was great we still found dust on and in all of our cabinets. Other than that, great job and great people to work with! I would highly recommend them!

Job went without a hitch from start to finish. Floors were sanded, stained and given two coats of poly. Also repaired a section of flooring and installed flush mount wood HVAC vents. Aaron and Chad were polite, professional and focused on providing a quality job. They also were extremely conscious of preventing any damage to walls or trim, and minimizing dust. They cleaned up after themselves each day, and kept disruption to our home and activities at a minimum. Christine was a very hands on owner. She checked in on site several times while the work was being done. She was easy to contact and replied promptly to all inquiries.

AMAZING! Christine and her crew James and Andrew were great to work with. They were able to accommodate our closing schedule and get the floors done in 7 days so we could move in our new home. Everyone says how amazing they look and they were able to bring the old hardwood back to life. Well worth the investment. I would use this company again and recommend to everyone!

The whole crew at Boardwalk were friendly, flexible with scheduling, and very knowledgeable. The floors were in need of some serious TLC with top-nails, top-screws, one area needing board replacement, and a stair set that had been carpeted leaving lots of staple holes. Finished floors and stairs look excellent, nail holes and other inconsistencies due to board separation are no longer noticeable now that they have been filled, and the new boards have been threaded expertly to the point being completely unnoticeable. Overall, very professional, trustworthy, responsive, and willing to work with you.

These guys were great, here on time everyday for 2 full weeks, very polite, cleaned up nicely and the workmanship was perfect. I'm a very picky customer because I usually do the work myself since it's hard to fine contractors that are as picky as me. This team was awesome and I would strongly recommend them.
