I paid in advance for the service they came out and did just the front lawn a 10 days later. Said it was to wet to finish. Took them another 3 weeks for them to come back and do the back lawn.

I called them and they came out and cut our lawn approximately four times. The first two times they did a pretty good job. The third time they cut into a flower bed on the side of the house. I called to complain and sent pictures as they requested. They said it would be no charge and that they would send a supervisor out to look at the problem who I never got a response from. The fourth time they cut even deeper into the flower bed, now there are cut flowers everywhere. I sent more pictures and called back to complain and they told me the supervisor said he didn't see any problems so I cancelled the service and still paid for the all services even though they don't know the difference between grass and flowers. I would never use the service again.

They were great.  I've been using them for two to three years.  They are local and they do what they are supposed to do.

Price for the Retaining Walls was comparable with the other quotes I received, and, once we agreed on a start date, the work was completed on time.  They were very professional and cleaned the area when finished.  The only problem was they missed a meeting at my house to review the work prior to the final quote but no one called.  I almost went with someone else at that point but gave them another chance and everything worked out OK.
I thought the border and downspout work would be relatively simple compared to the retaining walls .Although this was not quoted by others, their price seemed high (35% added to original quote), perhaps making money on change orders. But I did not want to do it myself and they were already in my yard. I would make sure all work is included and itemized in competitive quotes.

Summer of 2010, I contacted AK Lawn Care initially to clean the gutters on my house and garage.  The gutter cleaning was thorough and completed on time.  Before the guy left, he gave me a sales pitch for the Grater Gutter Guard system, and recommended it highly.  Had samples, etc.  My house is surrounded by maple trees (seeds/leaves big time).  I think I looked online for comparable systems - I did not get quotes from other companies.  I contacted AK again and gave them the go ahead to install the G3 system.  The guy arrived on time and installed the gutter guards.  Later that week, and for several weeks after, I kept finding sheet metal screws in my driveway - as if they were popping off the gutters?  But overall, at the time, I thought it was not a big deal - at least the gutters would not get clogged any more.   The following April (2011), house sparrows started building nests inside the gutters because the gutter guards were not installed properly over the ends of the gutters (end of roof line).   I contacted AK through their website "contact us" about the screws (still finding them in the driveway) and the bird nests, and several days later received a phone message from them that the screws were secure; and that they would fix the ends of the gutters so the birds can't get in.  It seemed after that the problem was resolved.  Later that summer, I had a new roof installed and the gutters/guards were left intact.  This spring (2012) the birds are still getting inside the gutters and building nests.  I called AK last week and got voice mail.  Left a message.  The next day I sent a message through their "contact us" on their website - both times I have asked them to come out to clean the nests out of the gutters and properly close off the ends.  Still no response.  I give up.  I would rather have no guards and pay someone to clean the gutters every year, and not have this mess with the birds.  I am going to contact a different company to come out and (a) remove the gutter guards and clean the gutters, or (b) remove the gutters and guards and install new gutters.

Update 6/21/12:  A rep from AK Lawncare called me twice and left messages on 6/18, and I returned the call the following day 6/19.  She apologized for the delayed response to my request and asked me if "the contractor" had got hold of me, which he did not.  She then explained that AK is no longer installing the G3 gutter guard system, but she would arrange for a contractor to visit my home and assess the situation.  She also said that this gutter guard system was not maintenance free, and that it still required annual cleaning.  This is not what I was told when I purchased it, and that is not what the product brochure or website says. I thanked her for calling but declined her offer to arrange for someone to come out.  I told her that I would be handling the situation myself, i.e. contacting someone locally that I trust to come out and evaluate the problem. 

These guys and gals were awesome.  They were quick to respond and send someone to review our needs and then came out within a day to start the work we needed, which was extensive winter cleanup. 
They weeded our beds, pruned neglected shrubs, pruned a huge and neglected rose bush that had grown clear up past the roof of our garage, and carefully pruned our Japanese maple tree and a weeping cherry. 
They applied a weed preventer also in our beds.  I've never seen a team work so fast and so hard all day long.  I actually told them they should slow down.  They were careful and thorough.
 I hired them to come back on a monthly basis for weeding and pruning maintenance.

They are very punctual. They have great prices.
