"I immediately phoned [Member name] upon seeing his review. I did not receive a phone call from [Member name] prior to this review. We felt terrible that he was not happy with his new driveway. We set an appointment to meet the next day. When I arrived, we walked the job and he pointed out his concerns. We want our customers to be happy as well as understand the product. Exterior concrete is a product that is laid down stiff, raked, bull floated and hand finished. It is not limestone that is cut, polished then set in place. There will be some minor cosmetic imperfections to the surface of a concrete driveway. What [Member name] showed me was just that; a few minor cosmetic imperfections. We put our concrete down with a 3 1/2 inch slump. By putting it down so stiff it greatly increases the strength and durability of our driveways. Although laying the concrete so stiff is great for driveway strength, it can cause a few minor cosmetic imperfections if you get down on your hands and knees and inspect it. If we were to pour concrete very wet, it would be a much easier job for us and the concrete almost self-levels, so there are very few cosmetic imperfections. But pouring a driveway wet is something we would never do; the surface would look perfect initially, but would be much weaker and would not hold up over time. [Member name] and I discussed this, and he took me to a few driveways other companies installed and I pointed out similar cosmetic imperfections. I also gave [Member name] a list of approximately 200 driveways we have installed which if he went to inspect he would see similar surfaces. He thanked me for coming over and discussing his concerns and said he felt better about his driveway which was professionally installed by our highly regarded company.
