My partner and I hired Woodhams to design/install landscaping, seed the lawn, and to install a sprinkler system for our new home. Initially, everything was great-very friendly, responsive, professional. Once the job was complete and they received payment, everything changed. The landscaping turned out beautifully- I have absolutely no complaint there. Prior to the sprinkler system being installed, we asked specifically if we should put up rope to mark the property lines to make sure none of the sprinkler heads were installed on the neighbors' property. They said there was no need since the corners of the property were marked,so we did not bother putting up the rope. The lawn was seeded and they provided a recommendation on who to use to treat the lawn. After a couple of months, we needed to put up a fence since we adopted two large German Sheperds. When we were having estimates done, we found that one of the sprinkler heads was literally two feet off of our property. We called Woodhams and requested they come out to fix it. We also wanted them to come out mark the water lines for the sprinkler system and provide the information needed to make sure that we did not do anything to void the warranty of the sprinkler system when the fence was being installed. Three weeks and four messages later, we finally received a response from them. They indicated that they were swamped with completing installs for other customers. These were customers that differed from us in that their jobs were in progress and they had not paid yet (we had paid them already). My partner also asked Bill some questions about why there were so many weeds in the lawn (we had been getting the needed lawn treatments as recommended, we just did not use who Woodhams recommended because our two phone calls to the other company went unreturned) and if Woodhams should have used that landscaping fabric to prevent weeds from coming up in the garden. Bill literally yelled at my partner and said he was sick of customers second guessing him and complaining when "one" weed was found. He then abruptly hung up on my partner. We left a couple more messages over the next couple of weeks to find out when they could move the sprinkler head and mark the water lines as originally requested. We still did not hear from them and we really needed to install the fence. I was outside one day and saw Bill's truck and thought he was coming over to take care of our requests. He was not. He and his crew were installing the landscaping for one of our neighbors-they were not coming to our house. My partner walked over to the neighbor's house and asked if Bill could take care of the sprinkler head. Bill came over to look at it and said they would have to take care of it later. Over the next week, Woodhams continued to work on our neighbor's yard, which was frustrating. We were very disappointed and called another company, who came out the same day to move the sprinkler head back on our property. It took one guy all of 20 minutes to do it. We had to pay $100. We expressed our disappointment in Woodhams to the other company. Note that when the other company was over, there were about 8 people from Woodhams working ion our neighbor's yard and they could not spare one person for 20 minutes. About a week later, Pam came over as a follow up to another message we left about the poor condition of the lawn. She attributed it to the fact that we did not use the lawn treatment company who she had recommended. I also proceeded to express my disappointment in the fact that they did not respond as they should have to our requests to move the sprinkler head and mark out the water lines for the sprinkler system (in preparation of installing the fence). I communicated that we really needed them to respond quickly to us since we really needed to put up the fence. Pam's response was "I don't see a fence now so it could not have been that important." I informed Pam that we still had not put up the fence because the one we wanted went on back order and we would have to wait another 4 weeks. Had Woodhams taken care of our requests within just two weeks of when we initially made them, we could have had the fence installed 3-4 weeks earlier. We finally put up the fence (Woodhams never did come over to mark the water lines). A few weeks after that, an issue with the sprinkler system came up and we called Woodhams and asked if it would be covered under warranty. Once again Bill proceeded to yell at my partner and specified we had no right calling and asking that since we put up a fence without getting Woodhams involved and it was the fence installation that caused the problems and we voided the warranty. He also asked us how dare we call and ask him this when we hired another company to move the sprinkler head and bad-mouthed him to the other company. My partner then said something condescending back to Bill and hung up. That was my experience with Woodhams.

I had an excellent experience with Jan and Bill. (My husband wrote his review in August, I am way overdue). My husband and I wanted to get some estimates on landscaping and I really didn't know what I wanted, I only knew what I didn't like about our yard. I was impressed right away with Jan, she has a very professional attitude but is very approachable, not at all intimidating. Jan and Bill really listened to what both of us wanted and I have to say that the job that Woodham's did far exceeded my expectations. The plan that they showed us didn't even do credit to the final result, I was astounded when I came home and saw the finished job (which is pretty neat since I saw the day to day progress). There was a lot of attention to detail, little surprises that I didn't expect, for instance I had a redbud that I had previously planted that wasn't doing well (I think I actually killed it) and Jan added a new one which was not part of the plan. Even now looking at our garden the plants are doing very well, the colors of the plants are changing with the fall weather which is something that I really appreciate. The plants all took turns with their colors, it is really beautiful to watch. The roses that they planted still have some fading blooms and it is almost Thanksgiving! I would absolutely recommend Woodham's for any landscaping job, they are a lovely, honest couple and all of their workers were very polite and professional. They were timely and did a wonderful job. I am planning on having them back in the Spring for another project. A wonderful experience for our family.

Jan met with me and made a design that I really liked. It was a very big and professional design that she presented me with the second time we met. She even customized it with all the plants that I like. They came in and did the whole job in one day. I came home from work and it looked amazing! They even made me some beautiful annual pots and dropped them off. All my friends use this company and are always happy.
